Confession time...

Last week while stitching Noah's Ark, I became very frustated. I started to hate my piece. The stitches were not coming out like I wanted. They looked very "bulky" (I'm not sure if this is the right word to use). So I decided not to continue with it. Don't get me wrong I really love the design, I was just hating my stitching.
But then I was worried. Noah's Ark was a gift, and now I didn't have one. And there isn't enough time to restart it. So, I chose a smaller design which I'll finish in time for the baby's arrival.
This is "Bless this Child" by Leisure Arts. It's a simple design but a really nice one. I have made some changes though. I'm changing the alphabet for a prayer, and I've changed the colors of two of the animals.

Now, I will restart Noah's Ark without having to worry about a time limit. And I'll send it to my friend as a belated gift.

I am sorry to hear that, Carol...but I am happy you found a new design to stitch as the gift.

Sometimes I am not happy with the way certain colors of DMC lay on my fabric either (and I railroad)...that sounds crazy that a certain color could lay any differently, but I guess it can due to the dye or something...so it probably wasn't YOUR stitching that was the problem-it was more than likely the fiber or fabric.

((((hugs))))

Oh, that is lovely! I think you made just the right decisions. Becky is right, sometimes the fabric makes one's stitching look all bulky - but it's not you!
I'm glad you found such a pretty replacement, and I'm sure it will be very appreciated :)

And if we don't stitch a gift with pleasure, the gift isn't that nice, is it? We don't put as much love into it, I'm afraid ;)
