Big HD!!!

Rune Gypsy is finished!!! I put the last stitch on it last night. I'm so happy with it... it's such a beautiful design. When I first started it, I never thought it was going to turn out so close to the artwork itself.
Everyone at home are so in awe... they keep telling me it looks almost like a painting.
It took me about 7 months to complete (I started it on October of last year). But I didn't touch for about 2 months at the beginning of this year. So it actually took me about 5 months.

Rune Gypsy by Stephanie Roberts

Stitched on 22ct Evenweave (2 over 1)

300x350

Check out my messy back. At first I was worried of how bad it looked. But who cares It will be framed and no one will ever see it...except you lucky guys.

Now that I've finished a HAED I will definitely be starting a new one soon. :D

Almost there!!

I'm almost finish with Rune Gypsy, just 30 rows of the last page to go, and it will be done!!
Just wanted to let you know, in case you were wondering why I haven't posted an update. I promise I will in the next few days. I'm just trying to keep myself away from my computer, because I tend to spend way too much time on the internet. :0P

A sweater for Hugo

Happy Mother's day, to all those moms that visit my blog!!

This weekend I decided to crochet a sweater for my bulldog. Because he is so chubby and with such a big neck, it's really hard to find one that fits him. The problem was I haven't knitted anything in about 20 years. I learned to crochet when I was about 8 yrs old, and the only thing I did at that time was a scarf. So I thought I was almost an impossible task.
I started on Saturday and finished it about an hour ago.
This is how the piece looked before it was sewn together.

Here it is all finished

And this is how it looks on him....not bad for a first try... :P.
I'll probably do another one, hoping that this time it fits better to his body. (it's a little to big on his belly)

I also worked on Rune Gypsy this past week, but I haven't taken a pic of my progress yet. I'll try to take one in the next couple of days.

3 pages to go..

This weekend I finish 3 more pages on my Rune Gypsy piece. So now, I've completed a total of 13 pages. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of this month, because the 3 pages I have left are not full pages but a little more than half a page.

Now I'm already thibking one which project I'll start next. I think I'll try a rotation of 2 again. I'll rotate between Maria van Scharrenburg's "The Kiss " and a HAED. My new HAED piece will probably be a smaller one (a quick stitch), but haven't decided which one yet.

HAED update...

I worked a little more on Rune Gypsy this past week. I have almost 3 more pages done. Just 25 more lines on each of them to go. Once those pages are completed, it will only be 3 more pages until this piece is finished....yeeeey!!
I can't believe I'm almost there. When I first started with this design, deep down I thought I was goin g to become an UFO, there was just so many pages. And I'd always stitched small or medium size pieces, but this was just a challenge for me. I'm glad I love the design so much and what a great job they have done converting it for cross stitch.
