Oriental Beauty

Thank you all for your comments on my previous post...I did follow your advice and continued working on the Oriental Lady. And here she is finished; I'm still not happy with the colors on her robe but I think overall she looks nice. There is a lot of backstitch in this little design...it took me the whole afternoon to finish it!!! No idea how I'm going to finish it...I'll have to think about it a little bit.

Design: Oriental Beauty by Julia Hawkins
Magazine: Cross Stitcher #190 (Sept. 2007)
Fabric: 28ct White Lugana
Started: 28. July. 2007
Finished: 05. August. 2007

Here is a close-up of her face...I think she has a sweet face :)
Un acercamiento a su cara...me parece que tiene una cara muy dulce :)

She's lovely. I like the colours in her robe. That is a LOT of backstitching. I'm surprised it only took you an afternoon.

Congratulations on your finish !!! Sometimes it's the design we are not too fond about that we finish faster ... Backstitches can take a while... That's why I'll always try to make them along the design (whenever it's possible.) I've notived your sister WIP disppeared: has she stopped stitching? What are you going to stitch next? Sarah kay?

Very pretty! Congrats on the finish. Are you going to do the symbols/words that could go on either side of her or frame her alone?

i did the same design , my daughter gave it her friend for a present, i didnt like the thread that was in the pack , it was awful to stitch with and the colours were awful not like the colours in the picture at all they just didnt seem to blend together. i really prefer how you stitched it on 28ct, but to be no honest i got so fed up of it since i wasnt happy with the colours that i ending up rushing it as i dont like stitching on aida no more.

my DD friend loves it though. so thats what counts
