Carol's progress and goals!

Today Carol sent me an updated pic of her progress on Olivia. She tells me she has finished all the black stitches on the first two pages and she's now filling in all the blank spaces. We can see the mermaid's lovely face :) She's stitching her on 25ct lugana 2 over 1 ~ tent stitch

Tag Alongs

It's been a month since I've shown you my progress on HAED's Tag Alongs, I'm almost half way done with it :) I've now finished one full page and a partial one.

Ya hace casi un mes que no les muestro mi avance en la sirena de HAED que estoy bordando, ya estoy casi en la mitad del diseño :) Ya terminé dos páginas.

Two exchanges and SAL

Today Goldie sent me a note to let me know that she had received the package I sent her for SBEBB Frosty Friends exchange. I think San Man Originals snowmen designs are very cute so I chose to stitch one called Happy Winter for this exchange. The design is stitched on 32ct lugana 2 over 2 except the snowman. I had stitched it 2 over 2 but I didn't like how my stitches looked ... all wonky and ugly, so I frogged them and re-stitched the snowman 1 over 2, I think it looks neatter this way :) . I used silver metallic thread in some snowflakes to add a little bit of sparkle! Finished it as a pinkeep, for the back I used a cute snowmen fabric and for the edges a ribbon with various shades of blue. I thought this one turn out cute, wasn't sure if she would like what I have made with the ribbon... I think she likes it, so that makes me happy :)

Hoy, Goldie me hizo saber que le había llegado un paquete que le había enviado por el último intercambio del foro SBEBB. El tema era hombre de nieve, por lo que elegí bordarle un diseño de San Man Originals ya que sus diseños de hombres de nieve me parecen muy lindos. El diseño es Happy Winter y esta bordado en 32ct Lugana 2 sobre 2, excepto el muñeco de nieve que cuando lo hice 2 sobre 2 las puntadas se veian horribles por lo que lo deshice y re-borde 1 sobre 2 y me pqrece que quedo mucho mejor, más parejo. Algunos copos de nieve tienen hilo metalico plata para darle un poco brillo al bordado. Le terminé como pinkeep, para la parte trasera una tela con desños de unos simpáticos muñecos de nieve y para el borde, cinta degrade en varios tonos de azul. Creo que quedo bastante simpatico, no estaba segura si a Goldie le gustaría lo que habia hecho con la cinta ... pero creo que si le gusto :)

Margie was my partner on HoE Valentine's Day exchange and on Valentine's Day she received the package I sent her :) (this one took 3 weeks to get there :S ... I was starting to panic beacause I thought it might have got lost!!). I saw on her blog that she stitches a lot of designs with birds so for this exchange I chose to stitch, Love Birds, a design by Diane Williams that can be found on the book "Simply Blessed Wedding Samplers" ~LA 24026 (I think the book is out of print now, I bought mine on eBay last year). I also finished this one as a pinkeep and used for the back a lovely green fabric that Mary sent me for my birthday last year, for the border and top I used satin ribbons in two shades of green. I was very pleased with the final result :)

Margie fue mi pareja de intercambio por el día de San Valentin en el blog HoE y recibió el paquete que le envie justo el 14 de febrero :) (este paquete viajópor 3 semanas :S ... ya estaba entrando en pánico pues pensaba que se había perdido!!). Vi en su blog que bordaba mucho diseños que tenían aves en ellos por lo que elegí bordar un diseño de Diane Williams llamado "Love Birds"; este diseño se puede encontrar en el libro Simply Blessed Wedding Samplers de Leisure Arts . Este bordado también lo terminé como pinkeep, para la parte trasera usé una tela verde que fue regalo de Mary por mi cumple el año pasado y para el borde cintas satinadas en dos tones de verde. Quedé bastante contenta con el resultado final :)

Aquí una foto actulizada de mi avance en QS Dark Cherry después del SAL del fin de semana pasado. No logré terminar la página como había planeado pero igual creo tuve un buen progreso.

Guess what...

my sister Carol is stitching again *yay* :) She hasn't touched a needle since May of last year when she finished this cow pillow. Last month when she came home to visit, I always showed her my finishes and progress of the HAED pieces I'm doing and one day she said to me she wished she had time to stitch. I said to her of course you can stitch, you watch at least 2 hours of tv you could stitch then :) !!! I guess she thought about it, cause next thing I now she was asking me to help her pick a HAED design to stitch :) She chose QS Olivia's Orchard (artwork by Hannah Disney) and began to stitch it on February 2nd. Here's her progress to date, she's waiting for some DMC threads that's why you see a lot of blank spaces.

Adivinen que?...mi hermana Carol esta bordando otra vez *yupii* :) No habia tocado la aguja desde mayo del año pasado donde termino una almohada de vaquita. El mes pasado cuando venia a visitarme, siempre le enseñaba lo que habia terminado y mi avance en los diseño HAED que estoy bordando; un dia me dijo que como le gustaria tener tiempo para bordar y entonces yo al toque le dije que en realidad si tenia tiempo, que lo hiciera en esas 2 o 3 horas que ve tele al dia :) Supongo que lo penso un poquito porque despues me pidio que la ayudara a elegir un diseño de HAED para bordar :) Eligio QS Olivia's Orchard (arte de Hannah Disney) y lo empezo el 2 de febrero. Este es su progreso al dia de hoy; esta esperando algunos hilo DMC que le faltan por eso se ven espacios en blanco.

I guess it's time to show you my progress on The Guardian (this is for you Jennifer as I know you wanted to see an updated pic :) ). This is a pic after 170.5 hrs of stitching, that's more than 20 hours since the last time I showed it. Do you think I'll be able to finish it sometime this year....I really hope so, I don't want to carry it on another year and I begining to feel bad making my dad wait so long for his wolves :{

Supongo que es tiempo de mostrarles mi progreso en The Guardian. Este es mi avance luego de 170.5 horas de bordar en el, son 20 horas más desde la última vez que se los mostré. Creen que los terminaré este año?...espero que sí; no quiero que siga como labor en progreso por otro año mas, aparte ya me siento mal de hacer esperar a papá tanto tiempo por sus lobos :{

Chiloe: El tipo de acabado que le di al adorno de Navidad es super facil! Deberias intentarlo, te vas a dar cuenta que no es dificil como crees :) Y con respecto a tu otra pregunta...pues nada ella me escribio (creo que vio fotos en el blog The Worlds Largest Collection of Smalls) y me pregunto si queria bordarle y claro bueno le dije que si! :)

Valentine's Day exchange from Deb

Look what I got from Deb for HoE Valentine's Day Exchange! She stitched Happy Heart pendant by Shepherd's Bush...isn't it beautiful?!! I love it!!!

In her package she also included some notecards, a gorgeous silk floss and a cute pincushion she had specially made for this exchange :)

Miren lo que recibí de Deb por el intercambio de San Valentin organizado en el blog Hooked on Exchanging. Bordó un diseño de Shepherd's Bush llamado Happy Hearts pendant....no les parece lindo??!! Me encanta!!!

En el paquete también incluyó tarjetitas, hilo de seda en un hermoso tono rosa y verde y un alfiletero que mando a hacer especialmente para este intercambio :)
