Distractions

Do you find that having another distraction (music, movies, people to talk to) while stitching helps you make progress or make mistakes?

I MUST have a a distraction in order to make progress on my stitching, specially TV. While I'm stitching I usually watch sitcoms, news it really doesn't matter it's just that I like to have some noise in the background
