Adress Book

This is a small design I made as a cover for my mom's adress book. I got this design from one of my magazines (WOCS #096 (Apr. 2005)). It took me about 7 hrs to stitch...because I've not been stitcing lately I've become very slow at doing it

Carol help me to put it all together...well she actually did it all, I just watch her

Confession time...

Last week while stitching Noah's Ark, I became very frustated. I started to hate my piece. The stitches were not coming out like I wanted. They looked very "bulky" (I'm not sure if this is the right word to use). So I decided not to continue with it. Don't get me wrong I really love the design, I was just hating my stitching.
But then I was worried. Noah's Ark was a gift, and now I didn't have one. And there isn't enough time to restart it. So, I chose a smaller design which I'll finish in time for the baby's arrival.
This is "Bless this Child" by Leisure Arts. It's a simple design but a really nice one. I have made some changes though. I'm changing the alphabet for a prayer, and I've changed the colors of two of the animals.

Now, I will restart Noah's Ark without having to worry about a time limit. And I'll send it to my friend as a belated gift.

It's the first time I ever ordered an afghan. I'm so excited about it, I'm already searching for the right design to stitch on it.

Lots of pics...

I've been working on my Noah's Ark piece again this week. But just for a few hours, this summer seems to be hotter than ever. It's only about 30% done, but it's still a fun project to work on.

Look who decided he wanted to appear on my photo.... my lovely bulldog Hugo.

I also took two more pieces to the framer last weekend. I picked them up on Wednesday. I'm very pleased on how the "4 My Boys" piece turned out. But no so much with Mirabilia piece. I think it would have looked a lot nicer with a dark frame. My first instinct was to do that, but then I decided to follow the framers advice and chose the one you see. I'm seriously thinking on taking it back, and changing the frame. Anyway here are the pics.

And finally, some of you have asked me about my training program. Well it's similar to what you would call a "boot camp" style program. So it's very intense, a lot of people feel a bit sick the first few days because of all the hard work.
And Isabelle, I'm 5' 2" high (1.57m) ... very short.

This week's update...

I'm soooo in love with this piece. Everytime I do the backstitch of an animal, I just can believe how cute those faces are.
I'm really hoping my friends like this design as much as I do. I haven't shown them the cover of the book or anything. So it will be a surprise... (they don't read my blog either)

It's so hot these days here in Lima. That why I haven't been stitching as much as I normally do, I think I'm really behind on my schedule. Now I'm completely sure I won't have it done in time for the baby's birth day.

Here's a pic of my progress on Rune Gypsy, I haven't worked on her since december. But I had not shared a pic with you all last time I picked her up, so anyway her it is...

I don't know if you remember me writing in this blog about starting an intensive training program. Well two weeks ago I finished the first part of the program and so far I've lost about 9 kg (20 lbs) ....Yeeey

Because of my height and body structure I'm supossed to weigh 53 kg (120 lbs). When the doctor first told me I was like "that's imposible, I had that weight that when I was maybe 12". But now that I'm starting the second part of the programm, I'm totally obsessed in reachimg my ideal weight so I have only 8kg (18 lbs) to go.

Hopefully I'll reach my goal, but even if I don't I will be very happy with myself for trying to live a healthier life.

WIP: Noah's Ark

As you can tell we're back!! Hope everybody had fun during the holidays.
We traveled to the north part of the country to celebrate the new year. We had a great time, since we haven't been to the beach in more than a year. That my not be a long for some people, but for us it is since we grew up in a tiny town 5 minutes away from it. The only thing I hated, was the 14hr drive to get there.

Now we're back in the city, and I've been stitching again. I've been working on my Precious Moment piece. I'm really worried about not having it done in time, so it will be my main project until I have at least 75% of it done....I guess Rune Gypsy will have to wait for a while...*whinning*

I did work a little on Rune Gypsy before I went on my trip. I'll post a pic of it tomorrow

Eeyore

This is my first finish for 2006...it's a free kit that came with the lastest Cross Stitcher UK.
I wanted to do something small and quick, because I don't have time to stitch lately .

I think it turn out really nice, I don't know what I'm going to do with it though
