Another finish!!!

Another finish!!! wow two in one day that's a record!! Finally today I decided to finish this little pinkeep I stitched a few weeks ago. The green fabric on the background is the one I used for the backing and two colors of organza ribbon (green and cream). To make the ribbon look this way it took me THREE hours...how slow am I??!!! This will be a gift for a special friend.

Otro projecto terminado!!!!! Todo un record para mi...dos en un día!!! Este bordado lo termine hace algunas semanas, y finalment hoy decidí darle un acabado. Use la tela que ven en el fondo de la foto, para el reverso y cinta de organza (verde y crema). Pueden creer que me tomo TRES horas hacer que la cinta se vea así!! Este será un regalo para una amiga especial :)

Finished!!!

Today at 1am I put the last stitch on the birth announcement I've been working on for the last 5 months. I feel so accomplished; I thought I'd never finish it. There are a lot of French knots and backstitch to do in this design, but all is worth it because it looks lovely.

A la 1am de hoy terminé de bordar el recuerdo de nacimiento en el que he estado trabajando en los últimos 5 meses. Por un momento pensé que no lo iba terminar, pero ya está listo! Tiene un montón de nudos franceses y pespunte, pero éstos son los que resaltan el diseño.

mmm...I think my answer for this is quite simple, I would buy more stash :) ...fabrics ( linen and evenweaves in different counts), hand dyed threads, a couple of q-snaps...and lots of charts and kits from my wish list!

Baby's Friends

As I said in my previous post, I worked on Baby's Friends Birth Announcement during the weekend. I think I made good progress, I'll continue stitching on it during the week and see if I can finish it.

Durante el fin de semana trabaje en el recuerdo de nacimiento para mi sobrino. Creo que he hecho un buen progreso, continuare bordando este diseño durante la semana a ver si lo logro terminarla.

A little finish and stitchy plans for the weekend

I know Halloween it's not until October...but this little pinkeep is a gift for a fellow stitcher who collects witches. She's visiting Peru by the end of March, so some lady's from a X-Stitch Group are planning a GTG so we can meet her and show her a little bit of our culture. The designs are "Best Witches" and "Witch Hat", two freebies that I got from Cyberstitchers by designer Barbara Ana. I didn't have pins that coordinated with this design so I painted the pin heads with Acrylic Paint...this is a tip I got from Chelle on the FGBB.

No, no es octubre ni se acerca Halloween! Es sólo que para fines de Marzo viene de visita a Perú una miembro de un grupo de punto cruz en el que participo; así que se esta organizando una pequeña reunión para poder conocerla y compartir un rato con ella. Ella colecciona brujas es por eso que elegí este diseño para bordarle. El diseño corresponde a 2 freebies, "Best Witches" y "Witch Hat" de Barbara Ana que obtuve en Cyberstitchers. Como no tenía alfileres que combinaran con los colores del diseño, pinté las cabezas de algunos con pintura acrílica para conseguir los colores de deseaba...este tip lo obtuve de Chelle en el foro FGBB.

Today I realized it has been almost 3 weeks since the last time I stitch on the birth announcement I'm doing for my nephew, this weekend I'm going to pick it up again and I hope to me some progress. Here's a photo of my mom and my little nephew Joaquin, who's almost 3 month old :)

Hoy me dí cuenta que hace casi 3 semanas que no bordo en el anuncio de nacimiento que estoy haciendo para mi sobrino, es por eso que este fin de semana he decidido trabajar en él y espero hacer un buen progreso. Aquí les muestro una foto de mi mamá con mi sobrinito Joaquín, que ya tiene casi 3 meses :)

SQB - Rip rip

Do you use your needle, a seam ripper, or something else when you have to frog stitches? Why do you use the method that you do?

What I use depends on the amount of stitches I have to frog. If it's a small area I use my needle but if it's a large area I use my scissor.

Two small finishes

This is what I finished today at 2am. It's stitched on 28 ct White Lugana with DMC. Iwant to finish it as a pinkeep...I'll do that later this week.

Esto es lo termine hoy a las 2am cuando tenía problemas para dormir. Esta realizado sobre Lugana 28ct con hilos DMC. Lo voy a terminar como un pequeño "pinkeep"...pero eso ya será más adelante.

I finished this piece on Monday, but couldn't post a photo because my dad sometimes visits my website and blog to see what I've been working on. Tomorrow it's my dad's 59th birthday so I stitched this little thing for him; it's also a design from the book Wit & Wisdom by Joan Elliot...I hope he likes it

El lunes terminé esta pequeña labor, no pude subir una foto antes pues es para mi papá y él a veces visita mi página para ver las cosas que estoy haciendo. Mañana es su cumpleaños y hoy viene a casa a cenar y se lo dare así que ya puedo publicar la foto. Este es otro diseño del libro Wit & Wisdom de Joan Elliot.

I couldn't sleep...

I couldn't sleep...so around 1am, I decided to get up and stitch a little bit. During the week I've been working on a small piece by Joan Elliot; it's a design from the book "Wit & Wisdom" that I bought a couple of weeks ago. I think it's a very pretty design and it has my favorite colors pink and green °Ü°

Well it's almost 2.30am and I've finished my stitcing ...so now I better go to bed and try to get some sleep. I'll post a photo later today....good night (or should I say good morning *Ü*).

Como a la 1am de hoy no podia dormir, así que decidí levantarme y terminar un pequeño bordado en el que he estado trabajando esta semana. Es un diseño de Joan Elliot que viene en el libro "Wit & Wisdom" que compré hace un par de semanas. El diseño es pequeño..pero lo elegí pues además de parecerme lindo tenia mi combinación preferida , rosado (rosa) y verde...ya son casi las 2.30 am y he terminado esta labor así que será mejor que me vaya a la cama y trate de dormir un poco. Más tarde publicaré una foto para mostrarles como me quedo...buenas noches (o mejor dicho buenos días *Ü* ! )
