SBEBB Specific Designer Exchange for Tanya

Tanya finally received the LHN exchange I sent her over a month ago!! I was about to start stitching a replacement because I thought it got lost in the post.

When I was deciding what to stitch for this exchange, I received this little freebie from a ONS, and I knew I had to stitch it for this exchange. I finished it as a small cushion with a ribbon on top (that ribbon must look a mess after a month of traveling ). The fabric I sent is the same one I used for the backing and I also sent some threads and a LHN chart.

I liked the way it turn out...in fact I liked it so much that yesterday I finished another piece the same way.

Tanya finalmente recibió el paquete que le envie para el intercambio de LHN...demoro un mes en llegar!! Ya estaba a punto de comenzar a bordar un reemplazo para envierselo pues pense que este ya se había perdido en el correo.

Cuando estaba eligiendo qué diseño bordarle, me llego un freebie junto con unos pedidos que hice por internet, apenas lo vi supe que eso seria lo que le bordaria. Lo terminé como una pequeña almohadita con un lazo encima (por cierto, ese lazo debe verse desastroso luego de su larga travesia ). La tela que le envie es la misma que usé para la parte trasera de la amohadita, además incluí algunos hilos y un grafico de LHN.

Me gusto como me quedo...es más ayer terminé otro cojincito de la misma manera.

And here is the piece I finished yesterday. It's a design from this years JCS Christmas issue. I first wanted to finish this one as a cube...but that didn't work out, my cube looked kind of wonky so I took it apart and finish is as a cushion instead.
Today I have a get together with some local cross stitchers, we are having a little exchange for Christmas and this is what I made for it. It didn't have to be a cross stitch gift but we are all cross stitchers so I thought it would be nice to receive something stitched.

Esto es lo que terminé ayer. Es un diseño que vino en la edición de Navidad de la revista Just Cross Stitch. Al principio quería terminarlo como un cubo...pero me quedó fatal, así que lo desbaraté y lo terminé como un cojincito.
Hoy me reuniré con algunas bordadoras de Lima, haremos un pequeño intercambio por Navidad y este cojín será para una de ellas. El regalo no tenía que ser bordado pero ya que es un intercambio de bordadoras pensé que sería bonito regalar algo de punto cruz.

Moose Be X-mas

This hasn't been a stitchy week at all for me, in fact I haven't touch a needle since Monday!!! On Monday I stitched and finished a small ornie using one of Barbara Ana's freebies. I did this one for Carol and she has hanged it on the rearview mirror of her car. I stitched red ric rac ribbon between the front and the back so it wouldn't look so plain.
I also stitched Peace by Country Cottage Needleworks from the JCS magazine that Mindi sent me but I haven't finish-finish it...so you'll have to wait to see a pic of it until I finish it, hopefully sometime this week.

Desde el lunes, no he tocado la aguja para nada...simplemente no he tenido ganas. El lunes sin embargo bordé y terminé un pequeño adorno usando un gráfico gratis de Barbara Ana. Este adornito lo he hecho para mi hermana Carol y ya lo ha colgado en el espejo retrovisor de su auto. Le he puesto una cinta zig-zag alrededor para que no se vea un tan simple y se vea un poco más divertido.
He bordado también un diseño de Country Cottage Needleworks llamado Peace, pero aún no lo termino termino...por lo que no les mostraré una foto de él hasta que le dé un acabado que esperemos sea en algún momento de esta semana.

Chritmas Ornament Exchange from Melissa

Here is the lovely ornie that Melissa made me for the SBEBB Christmas Ornament Exchange. That snowman is so cute and love the color of fabric she used for the finishing...I love my new ornie. Thanks a lot Melissa!!!

SBEBB Christmas Ornament Exchange

I read on the SBEBB forum that Joanie received the package I sent her for the Christmas Ornament Exchange. When I received her name I inmediatelly knew I was going to stitch a Santa since she stated that she likes them. After finishing it I got worried that it might be a little bit too cartoony...I hope she doesn't think so. This is my first round ornament, I thought it would be a lot more difficult to make but nope it wasn't at all.

He leído en el for SBEBB que Joanie recibió el sobre que le paquete que le envie para el intermcambio de adorno de Navidad. Entre sus gustos ella mencionaba que le gustaban los Santas, así que me decidí por hacerle este Santa; pero ya cuando lo había terminado me entraron las dudas que de tal vez le pudiera parecer muy infantil o caricaturizado...espero que no sea así. Esta es la primera vez que hago un adorno redondo, pensaba que iba a ser super complicado hacerlo y lograr que quedara bien pero al final no resultó así.

It's me...Rudolph!!

Silly me, had made big plans of stitching and finishing at least three ornies on the weekend...well things didn't go as planned and just yesterday finished the first one LOL. It's a Barbara Ana design (love her designs so colorful and fun!), it's a little sheep dressed as Rudolph and asking Santa for a job....so cute!!!

I changed twice the color of the letters, first I stitched them using WDW Noel but I didn't like how it looked so I frogged them and used DMC 4200 Color Variation instead. I replaced the stitched star with a little button. More Christmas ornies coming soon...

Había planeado bordar y termimar al menos tres adornitos el fin de semana pasado...pero para variar cada vez que hago planes las cosas no van como uno quiere así que recién ayer termine el primero jijiji. Es un diseño de Barbara Ana (me encantan sus diseño super divertidos y coloridos!), y es una oveja vestida de el reno Rodolfo y pidiendole a Santa que le de trabajo...super graciosa!

Tuve que bordar dos veces las letras, pues al principio las había bordado usando WDW Noel, pero no me gustó como quedó así que lo desbaraté y las hice con DMC 4200. El patrón indicaba que se bordara una pequeña estrella, la cual reemplace con un botoncito. Más adornitos de Navidad prontito...

Couple of oldies :)

Two weeks ago, mom sent to the framer two pieces that Carol and I finished a few years ago. We picked them up Saturday and I think both of them look very nice. Mom did a great job choosing the passepartout and frame. Both pieces are now hanging on our living room for Christmas.

Hace un par de semanas, mi mama envio dos bordados que Carol y yo habiamos terminado para ella hace un par de años. Los recojimos el sabado y creo que han quedado muy bonitos. La eleccion de mama en el paspartu y marco fueron muy acertadas. Ambos cuadros estan decorando nuestra sala por Navidad
