Meet my mummy

I finished this little ornament last night. It's a design by Helga Mandl that I bought a couple of years ago (I think), I'm not completely satisfied with my choice of fabric but overall I think it doesn't look bad. Added black and green beads to the border.

Anoche, terminé este pequeño adorno. Es un diseño de Helga Mandl que compré hace un par de años (creo); no estoy 100% satisfecha con mi elección de tela pero tampoco creo que quedo feo. Agregué mostacillas negras y verdes al borde del adorno.

Halloween stitching

Last night I finished this cute halloween design by Barbara Ana. I think it's adorable...love it!

I made a few color changes; stitched the wording with Atalie ~ Amethyste as I thought the color looked better with my choice of fabric; and replaced DMC of witch cheeks and broomstick with Anchor 76 and 889, respectively. Loooove the end result!!

No idea how I'm going to finish-finish it.

Anoche termine de bordar este tierno diseño de halloween de Barbara Ana.

Realice algunos cambios de color; la frase la borde con hilo Atalie ~ Amathyste pues me parecio que iba mejor con el color de tela que habia elegido; y reemplace el DMC de las mejillas de la bruja y el palo de la escoba por hilos Anchor 76 y 889, respectivamente. Me encanta el resultado final!!

No tengo idea aun que tipo de acabado le voy a dar.

I stitched this piece last year but never got around to finishing it as a biscornu. Last week while going through my finished pieces I decided to finish it. When I was sewing the biscornu, I noticed I had not stitched the "tail" of one of the ghosts...so I guess I can consider this a 2009 finish

El año pasado, borde este diseño pero nunca le acabe como biscornu. La semana pasada que estaba viendo las piezas que tengo bordadas pero que aun estan esperando ser terminadas-terminadas, lo vi y pues nada decidi terminarlo. Mientras estaba cosiendo me di cuenta que me habia olvidado de bordar la "cola" de uno de los fantasmas...asi que supongo que realmente no lo termine el año pasado y lo puedo considerar como algo que termine de bordar este año

On Saturday a new member joined our family . Everyone meet Mora, our 2 month old yorkie .

Miren quien se unio a nuestra familia el sabado . Su nombre es Mora y tiene 2 meses .

And here's my 3 year old, Mylo...he's not happy about the new addition. Hopefully they'll become friends with time...
Y aqui esta mi yorkie de 3 años, Mylo.. que no esta para nada contento con la nuevo integrante. Esperemos que pronto sean amigos...

October SAL

This past weekend was the freebie SAL in HAED's bb, so I stitched on Dark Cherry. I worked on page 3 and wanted to finished it during this SAL but there's a lot of confetti stitches in this page! I thought I had not made good progress, but if I compare the before and after SAL pics I think I didn't do that bad!

El fin de semana pasado fue el freebie SAL en el foro de HAED por lo que nuevamente borde en Dark Cherry. Avance la pagina 3, en realidad mi objetivo era terminar esta pagina pero hay demasiado puntos "confetti" (ya saben un puntito de un color por aqui otro puntito por aca, etc etc)! Pense que no habia tenido un buen progreso, pero al ver las fotos del antes y despues creo que no esta nada mal !

Stitching a Xmas gift

This week I've been stitching on one of Nora Corbett's Christmas Eve Couriers, Donner. I started this at the end of June and have not touched it since. I'm doing it on the recommended color and count of fabric but instead of linen I'm using an evenweave (jobelan). And I'm backstitching and beading as I go, I really don't want to leave all that to the end.

My mom collect reindeers so this is Christmas gift for her .
It's a holiday here in Peru so I'm off to stitch and do the beading in the right hand corner ...happy stitching!!!

Esta semana he estado bordando en uno de los renos de Nora Corbett, Donner (Trueno). Lo empecé a fines de junio pero solo bordé un poco en él y después ni lo toque. Lo estoy realizando en el color y "count" de tela recomendados pero en vez de lino estoy usando jobelan. A medida que avanzo estoy haciendo el pespunte y colocando las mostacillas, no quiero dejar todo es0 para el final.

Mi mamá colecciona renos así que este será un regalo de Navidad para ella.

Hoy es un día feriado en Perú, así que lo voy a aprovechar para bordar un poco más en él y terminar la esquina inferior derecha del diseño. Feliz bordado!!!

It's been a while...

... since my last update !!!
August and September where really busy month at work for me and got home around 10pm with no desire what so ever to pick up a needle and stitch . I did stitch a little on the weekends but I just didn't feel I made enough progress to justify taking pictures. To relax from those long days of work on Sept. 19th my sister and I went on a short vacation to Florida , we had a great time! It was a little bit hot but fun .

Hace poco más de un mes que no me aparezco por aquí !!!

Agosto y setiembre fueron meses muy ocupados en mi trabajo, llegaba a casa alrededor de las 10pm con absolutamente ningún deseo de coger la aguja y bordar . Los fines de semana bordaba un poco pero no lo suficiente como para tomar fotos de mi avance.
Después de tanto trabajo, a mediados de setiembre mi hermana y yo nos fuimos de vacaciones a Florida , la pasamos super bien! Hacia bastate calor pero igual disfrutamos mucho el viaje

In our last day in Miami we found a Michaels that was near a mall we were going to. It did not have a lot of cross stitch stuff but there were some OttLite lamps and they were 50% off!! So I HAD to buy one, right?! I bought the portable one in pink .

En nuestro último dia en Miami, encontramos un Michaels camino a un centro comercial al que estabamos yendo. No había mucha novedad en cuanto a punto cruz pero las famosas Ottlite estaban con un 50% de descuento! Así que nada, TENIA que comprame una, verdad?! Me compre la portable y en rosado

A finish!

An hour ago I finished Boo! Club :) !!I stitched it on the recommended linen and used the called for DMC, WDW and GAST threads. The only changed I made is in a candy in the bottom of the border that I used WDW purple majesty instead of taffeta as I didn't have enough a of the later to stitch the candy.

The photo doesn't reflect correctly the colors of fabric and thread as I took the pic on artificial light.

Hace una hora terminé Boo! Club :) , un diseño de Lizzie*Kate. Lo bordé usando la tela e hilos recomendados por la diseñadora. El único cambio que hice fue bordar uno de los carmelos del borde con WDW Purple Majesty en vez de Taffeta pues no tenía suficiente de éste último.

La foto no reflej los colores reales de hilos y tela usada pues tomé la foto en luz artificial.

Gifts and HAED SAL

Last week I received an early birthday gift from Becky K. She told me she wasn't sure how much time it will take for the package to travel from USA to Peru so she sent it early that way I would receive it on time for my birthday :) My birthday is still a few weeks away but it was so nice so receive Becky's package in the mail!!!

She made a beautiful pinkeep with a Lizzie Kate design (August block) and she included great goodies in her package (a chart from my wish list, a cute little pair of scissors, rings, a highlighter and a some fabric)

Thank you Becky for for this wonderful birthday gift!!!

La semana pasada recibí un regalo de cumpleaños de Becky K. Ella me contó que no estaba segura cuánto tomaría en llegar su paquete de USA a Perú así que decidió enviarlo temprano para estar segura que llo tendría a tiempo para mi cumple. Aún faltan un par de semanas para mi cumpleaños pero genial recibir los regalos la semana pasada :)!!

Ella me hizo un lindo pinkeep usando un diseño de Lizzie Kate (August block) e incluyó varias cositas en su paquete (un patrón, tijeritas, anillos, resaltador y una telita navideña)

Every second weekend of the month is HAED's freebie SAL so I picked up again QS Dark Cherry and made great progress, I'm half way thru page 3 :) Here are the before and after pics. In the photo you can see the pair of scissor I won in July's giveaway of Our Friends' HAED SAL blog :)

Well I'm off to have lunch with my brother and SIL as they are celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary today, have a great week!!

Cada segundo fin de semana del mes es el freebie SAL del foro de HAED, así que bordé en QS Dark Cherry e hice muy buen progreso en él, ya voy por la mitad de la página 3 :) Aquí una foto del antes y después.
