A new start

Hi! It's been a while since I updated my blog. I just didn't have anything to share as I haven't been stitching much lately. But this morning I decided to start something small and see if that motivates me to stitch more. Here's a pic of what I have done so far, it's a kit by Anchor but I changed the fabric from the kit to lugana. My plan is to finish it this week, lets see how that goes :)

Hola! Ha pasado un buen tiempo desde que actualice mi blog. No he estado bordando mucho ultimamente por lo que no he tenido nada nuevo de compartir. Pero esta mañana decidi comenzar una labor pequeña y ver si eso me motiva a coger la aguja mas seguido. Aqui una foto de mi avance; es un kit de Anchor pero he reemplazado la tela que venia por lugana. Mi plan es terminarlo esta semana, vamos a ver que tal me va :)

Dogs leave paw prints

This week I finished a small design by Lizzie*Kate called Dogs leave paw prints. It's stitched on Country Mocha belfast linen (Zweigart) with DMC threads (used the conversion provided in the chart). I already have an idea of how I want to finish it but you'll have to wait a little bit to see it :) The dog in the picture is Hugo, our beautiful English bulldog, who died a few years ago from liver cancer.

Esta semana bordé un diseño de Lizzie*Kate. Lo he realizado sobre lino de Zweigart ("Country Mocha") con la conversión de hilos DMC que se recomendaba. Más o menos tengo una idea de que tipo de acabado le quiero dar pero bueno tendran que esperar un poco para verlo :) El perrito de la foto es Huguito, nuestro precioso bulldog inglés, que murio hace algunos años de cancer hepático.

This week I received the threads I needed to complete page 1 of SK Dragon Luck. This is how it looks so far; now I have to wait until April when the second and last page of HAED's freebie SAL will be realesed.

Esta semana recibí los hilos que me faltaban para completar la primera página de SK Dragon Luck y así es como se ve por el momento, ahora tengo que esperar hasta abril donde saldrá la segunda y última página del SAL que se esta llevando a cabo en el foro de HAED.

This is a photo I took of my doggies today. Mora is now 6 month old and Mylo is 3 year old. Mylo hates to have his photo taken, it was impossible to get one where he was looking at the camara.

Esta es una foto que les tomé hoy a mis perritos, Mylo y Mora, de 3 años y 6 meses, respectivamente. Mylo detesta que le tomen fotos, fue imposible obtener una en la que el mirara a la cámara.

First finish of 2010!!

Today I had my first happy dance of 2010!! And I not only finished the stitching but also finished it as a no-sew cube (the second one I do). Need practice how to make a nice bow, but I'm still happy with the outcome :)

I made a couple of changes in the thread color of the original design. I used Anchor 848 for the mice fur and all the parts that the chart called for DMC4200 I substitued with ThreadWorx 1094 (party time). As you can see in the pic on the left, I had stitched some letter with  DMC4200 but I wasn't sure I liked it so decided to look through my collection of threads and found this choice of ThreadWorx I like best for this design :)

Hoy terminé mi primer bordado del año!! Y no sólo lo terminé de bordar sino que hasta le dí un acabado, en este caso un cubo (el segundo que hago). Aún necesito practicar un poco cómo hacer un moño más bonito, pero igual estoy bastante contenta con el resultado final :)

Le hice un par de modificaciones a los colores del diseño original. El pelaje del ratoncito lo bordé con Anchor 848 y las partes del diseño que indicaba bordarlos con DMC4200 lo sustituí con ThreadWorx 1094 (Party Time), como verán en la foto de la izquierda ya había bordado gran parte de las letras con el hilo DMC pero la verdad no me convencía mucho y entonces decidí buscar entre mi colección de hilos otra opción y encontré este de ThreadWorx que me gusta más para este diseño :)

A January goal met!

Last I finished another page on Shh Now. This designs has 15 full pages and 3 partial pages, so far I've completed 6 full pages :) , if I keep up the rhythm I may finish it by the end of 2010!

Anoche terminé otra página de Shh Now. Este diseño tiene 15 páginas completas y 3 parciales, hasta el momento ya llevo bordadas 6 páginas completas :) , si logro mantener este ritmo tal vez pueda terminarla a fines del 2010!

Remember, back in October I showed you a pic of my new furbaby Mora...well she's 5 month old now and very very spoiled!!

Se acuerdan, que en octubre les enseñe un fotito de mi nueva cachorra Mora... pues ya tiene 5 meses y super super engreida!!

A new model for Barbara Ana Designs

Here's a pic of a new model I stitched for Barbara Ana :) I really looove this design! The snowman is so cute and like how the thread color just pop against the fabric!

I guess you'll probably see this chart in your ONS next week ;)

Les muestro una foto de un nuevo modelo que bordé para Barbara Ana :) Me encanta este diseño! El hombre de nieve esta super lindo y me gusta mucho el contraste de los hilos con la tela!

Presumo que la próxima semana ya lo podran adquirir en las tiendas online ;)

In this post I'll show you two of the three finishes I did not show you last year. The first one is a small freebie I stitched on August but was waiting to finish as an ornament to show it to you, but that never happened :P So here's Let it Snow, stitched the snow with Mill Hill beads.

Hola y Feliz Año 2010!!

Tomé un breve descanso del blog durante en diciembre, pero ya estoy de regreso ;)!

En mi primer post del año le voy a mostrar dos de los tres diseños que terminé el año pasado y que no les he mostrado aún. El primero es un diseño gratis que bordé en agosto pero estaba esperando terminarlo como un adorno para mostrarselos ya terminado-terminado, pero bueno eso nunca paso así que aquí esta :P

El diseño es de Helga Mandl y bordé la nieve con mostacillas de Mill Hill.

And here's my last finish of 2009, QS Dark Cherry that I stitched as SAL with some members on HAED's bb.

Last year was my first year stitching HAED designs and I managed to finish two in my first year, both were what they call "quickstitches" but they are not that quick at all !!

Y este es mi último bordado terminado en el 2009, QS Dark Cherry que bordé como parte de un SAL con algunos miembros de foro HAED durante todo el año pasado.

El año pasado fue el primer año en el que borde diseños de HAED y logré terminar dos de ellos; ambos fueron los que ellos llaman "quickstitches" (bordado rápido) pero la verdad no son tan rápidos de bordar!!
