Scissor fob swap

Last month there was a scissor fob swap in a yahoo group I belong to. My partner was Jana C. (no blog) and this is what I made for her. The design is a freebie I found online and it's stitched over one with DMC 4210 and added some beads to the edge. On the back I stitched Jana's initial again using an alphabet freebie I found online. When I showed this to mom she asked if my partners name was ... and began to say name that started with F, and I was like "mmmm no, that's a J!!!" And she began to turn it around and then said "oh, yes I can see it now!"...but I think she was not convinced It does look like a "J", right?

El mes pasado hubo un intercambio de "scissor fob" en un grupo de yahoo al que pertenezco. Mi compañera de intercambio fue JanaC. (no blog) y esto es lo que hice para ella. El diseño es un grafico gratuito que encontre en internet; esta bordado con hilo DMC4210 uno sobre uno y le añadi mostacillas alrededor del fob. En la parte trasera puse la inicial de Jana usando un alfabeto gratuito. Cuando se lo mostre a mama ella me pregunto si el nombre de mi compañera era ... y comenzo a decirme nombres que empezaban con F y le dije "mmmm nop! es una J!!!" , entonces comenzo a darle vueltas y verlo de distintos angulos y finalmente me dijo "ah, claro ahora si la veo!"...pero la verdad creo que no estaba muy convencida Si parece una "J", no?

A small finish and goals

Things at work were super slow last week, so I decided to take a little piece to keep me entertained :) When I was searching for a little project I got the latest newsletter from Barbara Ana Designs and attached to it was biscornu freebie from a new holiday biscornu series she's about to release. It was a quick finish and it now in my basket of small with my Buzzing Around biscornu. Now I have to find another small project to take to work :)

Las cosas en el trabajo estan super lentas, asi que la semana pasada decidi llevar un proyecto pequeño para poder avanzar en mis ratos libres. Cuando estaba buscando que proyecto llevar, me llego el ultimo "newsletter" de la diseñadora Barbara Ana y justo a este vino un grafico gratis de un biscornu (este forma parte de una nueva series de biscornus que esta por publicar). Fue un proyecto rapidito y que ahora esta junto otro biscornu de la misma diseñadora que termine el mes pasado, "Buzzing Around Biscornu". Ahora a buscar un nuevo proyecto para llevar al trabajo :)

2. Stitch "Believe" (L*K Living with Charm series) ~ Yes!!
3. Stitch at least 15 hours on The Guardian ~ Yes!!!
4. Stitch part 3 of Back on the Road Again ~ Finished part 4 instead of part 3 :P
5. Stitch and finish a Tin Topper for the Monthly Finishing Challenge blog ~ nop!
I also stitched a piece for an upcoming exchange and finished a biscornu :)

Me fue bastante bien con mis metas para junio:
1. Bordar, terminar y enviar un "scissor fob" para el intercambio en el grupo Brooke’s Books Interactive Group ~ Si!!!

2. Bordar " Believe" (de la serie de L*K Living with Charm) ~ Si!!
3. Bordar al menos 15 horas en The Guardian ~ Si!!!
4. Bordar la parte 3 de Back on the Road Again ~ Termine la parte 4 en vez de la 3 :P
5. Bordar y terminar un "Tin Topper" para el reto de este mes en el blog Monthly Finishing Challenge ~ nop!

Ademas termine de bordar una pieza para un intercambio e hice un biscornu

Still working on this one...

...and I'm not even half way done with it. Here's my progress after 100 hrs. Remember I wanted to finish it for Father's Day.,.well as you can see that didn't happened *sigh*. I finished all my obligatory stitching for the month (hopefully I can share pics of these in a couple of weeks) and I'm waiting for some floss to finish Back on the Road Again so now I can focus on this piece for the rest of the month :). I'm not setting a new date to finish it, just don't let it turn into an ufo ;)

Aún sigo trabajando en esta pieza, este es mi progreso luego de 100 hras. Se acuerdan que quería terminarlo para el Día del Padre...bueno como pueden ver eso no sucedió; pero he terminado todos las labores que tenia que hacer para este mes (espero poder compartir fotos de lo que hice en un par de semanas) y estoy esperando un hilo para poder terminar Back on the Road Again así que me enfocaré en esta pieza por el resto del mes :). No voy a establecer una nueva echa para terminarlo (ya que nunca las cumplo jiji) sólo no dejar que se convierta en un ufo ;)

Back on the Road

Last weekend there was a Stitch-A-Thon in a spanish blog, so I decided to participate and work on Back on the Road Again. I had nothing planned for this weekend so I managed to make a lot of progress on it. The next time you see this piece in this blog, it will be finished!

El fin de semana hubo maraton puntocrucera y el proyecto que elegi para participar fue "Back on the Road Again". No tenia nada planeado para hacer este finde semana, solo bordar y consegui un buen avance en esta labor. La proxima vez que lo enseñe sera ya terminado!!

Exchange from Nancy

Yesterday when got home form work I found on my bed a package waiting for me to be opened...it was from Nancy for the Feathered Friends exchange!!! She stitched a lovely design by Prairie Schooler (in her note she said that it was one of her favorites designers) and finished it as a pinkeep~ornament. I love the design and her stitching and finishing is perfect! That was a nice way to finish a loooong day of work :)

Anoche cuando llegue a casa del trabajo encontré sobre mi cama un paquete para mi...era el paquete que Nancy me había enviado para el intercambio del foro SBEBB cuyo tema era aves. Nancy bordo un diseño de Prairie Schooler (que menciono en su nota era uno de sus diseñadores favoritos) y lo termino como un adorno tipo pinkeep. Me encanta el diseño que eligió y tanto el bordado como el acabado del adorno están perfectos! Una muy buena forma de terminar un laaaaaaargo día de trabajo :)

Living with Charm

Last night I finished another block of Living with Charm. I started this as a SAL and had planned to stitch one block per month but as I'm stitching this for my sister Carol and she keeps asking when I'm going to finished it and was a little bit disappointed when I told her that I would finish it in December, I've decided I would try to finish it sooner, not this month but maybe for her birthday in August...maybe, I'm not promising anything :P

Anoche terminé otro bloque de "Living with Charm". Esta labor la había comenzado como un SAL y planeaba bordar un bloque por mes pero como lo estoy haciendo para mi hermana Carol y siempre me esta preguntando cuándo lo termino y medio la baje de su nube cuando le dije que estaría listo para diciembre, pues he decidido tratar de terminarlo antes, no este mes pero tal vez para su cumpleaños en agosto...tal vez, no prometo nada :P

Goals!

Let's see if I met my goals for May:

1. Finish and mail out SBEBB Feathered Friend ~ Finished - mailed and received!

2. Stitch "Listen" for the L*K SAL ~ Yes! and finished also the next block "Listen"

3. Stitch at least 10 hours on The Guardian ~ Yes!

4. Stitch 5 hours on P. Kellogg's Valentine Mystery SAL ~ Nope, I'm putting this aside for a while...I've lost interest in it

5. Stitch 5 hours on Back on the Road Again ~ Yes!

6. Stitch part 2 and 3 of Anne R.'s Mystery SAL ~ Nope, I will continue working on this piece when I finish Back on the Road Again ( lately I have very little time for stitching and too many WIPs)

7. Participate on this month's SAT and work on The Guardian that weekend ~ Nope!

8. Stitch and finish a biscornu for the Monthly Finishing Challenge blog ~ Yes!!!

Veamos como me fue con mis metas para mayo:

1. Terminar y enviar el intercambio SBEBB Feathered Friends (tema: aves) ~ Terminado - enviado y recibido!

2. Bordar "Listen" para el SAL de L*K ~ Sip, incluso borde el siguiente bloque "Listen"!

3. Bordar por lo menos 10 horas en The Guardian ~ Sip!

4. Bordar 5 horas en el Mystery SAL de P. Kellogg ~ Nop, he perdido interes en este bordado asi que lo pondre a un lado por un tiempo.

5. Bordar 5 horas en Back on the Road Again ~ Si!

6. Bordar la segunda y tercera parte de el Mystery SAL de Anne R. ~ Nop! Estara aparcado por un tiempo, primero voy a terminar Back on the Road Again y luego continuare con el (ultimamente tengo muy poco tiempo para bordar y muchos WIPs para mi gusto)

7. Participar en la maratón puntocrucera de este mes y bordar The Guardian ese fin de semana ~ Nop!

8. Bordar y terminar un biscornu para el reto mensual del blog Monthly Finishing Challenge ~ Si!!!
