It's my birthday!!

Today my sister and I are celebrating our 35th birthday...we're getting oooold!!! :P

We're going to have a small gathering with our family later tonight :) but I still wanted to wish her happy birthday here in my blog :)

As you might remember my sister taught me to crochet. So besides the bought gifts I wanted to give her something made by me. I made her a neckwarmer for the cold weather we've been having this days...I hope she likes it :)

Como recordaran fue mi hermana que me enseño a tejer a crochet. Así que aparte de los regalos comprados quería darle algo hecho por mi. Le hice bufanda para que se abrigue un poco del frío que esta haciendo últimamente....espero le guste :)

Progress on Christmas Fairy

These past two days I've been working on  the wings of my Christmas Elf Fairy. I got a little bit worried as I thought I'd run out of thread to fill in the wings but I had just enough to finish them. I think I'll continue working on her next week so I can have a happy dance by the end of the month :)

Estos dos últimos días me he enfocado en bordar las alas de Christmas Elf Fairy. Estaba un poco preocupada porque parecia me iba a quedar sin hilo para completar el relleno de las alas pero tuve lo  justo para terminar de rellenarlas.Creo que continuare trabajando en ella la próxima semana así ya tendre un esta pieza terminada para fin de mes :)

I'm almost a week late sharing my pic for the TUSAL...I did take the pic on the day we were supposed to post but was too lazy to upload it here :P 

Con casi una semana de retraso, aquí esta mi foto para el TUSAL...tomé la foto en la fecha indicada (que fue el viernes) pero me daba pereza publicarla aquí :P

My finishes of the weekend

This weekend was the IHSW, but instead of cross stitching I crocheted. I guess as it involves stitches I can still be part of the IHSW ;)

As I mentioned in a previous post a ran out of black yarn to finish the second slipper. This weekend I went to the yarn store and pick up some black yarn to finish them. They are not perfect but at least my feet are warm :P. Here is not so good pic of them...

Este fin de semana fue el IHSW, pero en vez de realizar punto cruz tejí a crochet. Supongo que como igual consiste en hacer puntadas igual puedo formar parte del IHSW ;)

Como mencioné en entradas anteriores que quedé sin lana negra para completar la segunda zapatilla. Este fin de semana fue a comprar la lana negra que me hacia falta. las zapatillas no quedaron perfectas pero al menos mantienen abrigados mis pies :P. Aquí una foto no muy buena de ellas...

I also made a couple of hair clips for my daughter. These were super fast to make; I think I finished crocheting the hearts and sew them to snap clips in less than 30 minutes :)

También hicé una par de ganchos para mi hija. Fueron super rápidos de hacer; creo que terminé de tejer los corazones y de cocerlos a los clips en menos de 30 minutos :)

Making progress on SK Blue Moon

Page 3 (and the last one) for SK Blue Moon will be emailed to all participants of the SAL by the end of the month. My goals is to have pages 1 - 2 finished by then. Last week I ordered the thread I'm to missing for this piece and I'm hoping it won't take to long for them to get here. 

This is how it looks as of last night...I've reached the bottom of page 2, and finished the larger blocks of colors :)

La página 3 (y la última) para SK Blue Moon será enviada a todos los participantes del SAL a fines de mes. Mi meta es tener las páginas 1 - 2  terminadas para ese entonces. La semana pasada pedí los hilos que me faltaban y espero no tarden mucho en llegar.

Así lo dejé anoche...ya alcancé el borde inferior de la página 2, y ya he completado los bloques grandes de color.

I could not finish my slipper on the weekend as I ran out of black yarn when I had only 5 rows left :( I'll go to the yarn shop sometime this week and stock up as I have some new projects planned for this month :)

But I do have a finish to share. I finished this one on July and posted a pic on my "2012 Crochet" page but forgot to post it here. Suzie, the designer of this cutie asked on Ravelry for some newbies to test her pattern and I happily offered myself to do it :P . It was a fun and quick project and her instructions were very clear. No pude terminar la zapatilla que me faltaba para completar el par, ya que me quede sin lana negra cuando solo me faltaban 5 filas :( En el transcurso de la semana iré a la tienda para "estoquearme" de lanas para varios proyectos que tengo planeados para este mes :)

Pero igual si tengo algo que mostrarles. Realicé este gatito en julio y publique una foto en la página "2012 Crochet"  pero me olvidé de publicarlo aquí. Suzie, la diseñadora preguntó en Ravelry por principiantes en crochet que quisieran probar su patrón y yo me ofrecí a hacerlo :P Fue un proyecto fácil y rápido y las instrucciones de cómo hacerlo son super claras. Pueden encontrar el patrón en su blog.

The choice of dessert for the month of August was Frozen Yogurt. I did make a small color change, the bowl was charted in pink but I wasn't loving it so I change it to the colors that were used for the straw in the bubble tea ... I'm very happy with the outcome it looks more fresh and summery now :)

 

I also wanted to thank you all for your get well wishes :) I'm feeling a lot better now!

El postre elegido para el mes de agosto fue Yogurt Congelado. Hice un pequeño cambio en un par de colores, el bol debia ser rosado pero como no me encantaba decidi cambiarlo por los colores usados en la cañita del te burbuja.... estoy muy contenta con cómo quedó, se ve más fresco y veraniego :)

También queria agradecerles por sus buenos deseos para mi pronta recuperación :) Ya me siento mucho mejor!

WIPocalypse report and goals for August

No stitching or crocheting for me this week :( .  I’ve been sick in bed with an acute tonsillitis :(( . I felt terrible and was in a lot of pain even though I took painkillers and antibiotics. I’m not completely recovered yet but the fever is gone and the pain is less.
I had planned to post about my goals and do an update about the wips I’ve worked on for the WIPocalypse on the 1st of the month but that was impossible. But now that I’m better, I’ll share how I did since my last WIPocalypse update. I only worked on these two this month but I'm very happy with my progress specially on SK Blue Moon :)

Now it's time to see how I did with my goals for July:
1. Stitch July's Dessert of the month - Yes! This time it was a Strawberry Shortcake.
2. Add 2,300 stitches on SK Blue Moon - Yes!
3. Finish Christmas Elf Fairy by Mirabilia - Worked on her, but haven't finish her yet
4. Continue working on Scent of Wind - Nope :(
5. Continue working on my first crochet project - Yes! And finished 3 amigurumi this month :)

And now my new goals for August:
1. Stitch August's Dessert of the Month
2. Finish page  1-2 of SK Blue Moon
3. Finish Christmas Elf Fairy
4. Continue crocheting on my two current wips

Ahora vamos a ver que tal me fue con mis metas para el mes de julio:

1. Bordar el postre del mes de julio - Si! Este mes fue una torta de fresas.
2. Añadir 2,300 puntos a SK Blue Moon - Si!
3. Terminar Christmas Elf Fairy de Mirabilia - Lo avancé un poco, pero aún no esta terminada.
4. Continuar bordando Scent of Wind - Nop :(
5. Continuar con mi primer proyecto a crochet - Si! Y terminé 3 amigurumi este mes :)

Y ahora mis metas para agosto:
1. Bordar el postre del mes de agosto
2. Terminar las páginas 1-2 de SK Blue Moon
3. Terminar Christmas Elf Fairy
4. Continuar con las dos labores a crochet que tengo en progreso
