My finishes of the weekend

This weekend was the IHSW, but instead of cross stitching I crocheted. I guess as it involves stitches I can still be part of the IHSW ;)

As I mentioned in a previous post a ran out of black yarn to finish the second slipper. This weekend I went to the yarn store and pick up some black yarn to finish them. They are not perfect but at least my feet are warm :P. Here is not so good pic of them...

Este fin de semana fue el IHSW, pero en vez de realizar punto cruz tejí a crochet. Supongo que como igual consiste en hacer puntadas igual puedo formar parte del IHSW ;)

Como mencioné en entradas anteriores que quedé sin lana negra para completar la segunda zapatilla. Este fin de semana fue a comprar la lana negra que me hacia falta. las zapatillas no quedaron perfectas pero al menos mantienen abrigados mis pies :P. Aquí una foto no muy buena de ellas...

I also made a couple of hair clips for my daughter. These were super fast to make; I think I finished crocheting the hearts and sew them to snap clips in less than 30 minutes :)

También hicé una par de ganchos para mi hija. Fueron super rápidos de hacer; creo que terminé de tejer los corazones y de cocerlos a los clips en menos de 30 minutos :)

Weekend stitching

As suspected, I didn't stitch much during the weekend. I did start a small xmas ornament on Friday and picked it up again on Sunday. The pic on the right shows how it looked as of last night. This ornament is the first of three that are being design by Italian designer Manuela Albanese for the Waiting for Christmas SAL.

I have just finished stitching this piece tonight but it's kind of late to take pic so I'll show you a pic of my finish tomorrow =)

Como supuse, no pude bordar mucho el fin de semana. Comencé un pequeño adorno de navidad el viernes y el domingo lo avancé un poquito más. La foto de la derecha muestra cómo lo deje anoche. Este adorno es el primero de  tres que esta diseñando Manuela Albanese para el SAL Waiting for Christmas.

Lo acabo de terminar de bordar hace unos minutos pero como ya es un poco tarde para tomar fotos se los mostraré mañana =)

Weekend stitching

As mentioned in my previous post, last weekend was the IHSW. I didn't get to stitch as much as I wanted, but still managed to finish my main goal for the weekend that was finishing my page for Chelsea's project. As I said when I started stitching this page almost a year ago a young stitcher died of complications from a lung and heart transplant. After hearing the news, a group of 20 stitchers joined to stitch this beautiful mermaid for Chelsea's mom. I got to stitch page 12 and I'll be sending it to Canada were it will be sewn with the rest of the blocks.

Como mencioné en mi entrada anterior, el fin de semana pasado fue el IHSW. No pude bordar tanto como me hubiera gustado, pero igual logré mi objetivo del fin de semana que era terminar mi página en el proyecto para Chelsea. Como dije cuando empecé a bordar la página, hace ya casi un año un bordadora murio de complicaciones de un transplante de corazon y pulmones. Después de enterarnos de la noticia, un grupo de 20 bordadoras nos unimos para hacer esta linda sirena para la mamá de Chelsea. A mi me tocó hacer la página 12 y la estaré enviando a Canada para que sea unida con el resto de los bloques.

IHSW March report

I initially had planned to stitch on "Chelsea's Gift" for the International Hermit & Stitch Weekend, but that never happened. Instead, I finish the model I was doingg for Barbara Ana; but I can't show you pictures of it yet...you just have to trust me that I did stitch and even had a happy dance ;)

This week I'm working on SK Blue Moon, I'll show pictures of my progress in a few day :)

Había planeado bordar en "Chelsea's Gift" para este fin de semana, pero ni siquiera lo toque. Lo que si hice fue terminar el modelo que estaba haciendo para Barbara Ana, pero no puedo mostrarles fotos de eso aún...así que sólo tendrán que confiar en mi palabra que borde y terminé el modelo ;)

Esta semana estoy avanzando SK Blue Moon, les mostrare fotos de mi progreso en unos dias :)

IHSW results and TUSAL

This past weekend was February's IHSW, the project I chose to stitch was SK Blue Moon. I didn't get as much progress as I'd wanted but still managed to complete more than 300 stitches. The lady's face is starting to show, even though it is not completely finished I'm happy of the way it looks, I was worried it would be a blur.

From the pictures you probably won't notice a lot of differences because right now I'm filling in areas of single stitches.

El fin de semana pasado fue el IHSW de febrero, mi proyecto a bordar fue SK Blue Moon. A pesar que no bordé tanto como hubiese querido igual conseguí completar más de 300 puntadas en él. La cara de la mujer ha comenzado a aparecer, y a pesar que aún no esta completamente bordada estoy bastante contenta en como va quedando, estaba preocupada de que se viera muy borrosa.

Por las fotos probablemente no noten mucha diferencia, lo que pasa es que estoy llenando áreas de confetti

This is my progress on Chelsea's Project after the weekend. I think I did pretty well in my first International Hermit & Stitch Weekend :) Managed complete more than 1,000 stitches in a two evening of stitching :)*yay*

Este es mi progreso en el proyecto para Chelsea después del fin de semana. Creo que me fue bastante bien en mi primer "Internationa Hermit & Stitch Weekend" :) Logré completar más de 1,000 puntadas en dos sesiones de bordado :) *yay*

HAEDs and January's IHSW

Last week was crazy...with Maria Fernanda's birthday, me having the flu and with tons of things to do at work I could only pick up a needle for a couple of hours one evening.  This week I decided no matter what I was going make some time to stitch :) I've worked on SK Blue Moon, and this is how it looks so far. I'm kind of anxious to see her face, I'm worried that because it's a "small" HAED (storykeep) a lot of the details on her face will be lost and it won't look right :S

La semana pasada fue un poco loca...el cumple de Maria Fernanda, yo estaba resfriada y además un montón de trabajo en la oficina así que sólo pude bordar por una par de horas una noche. Esta semana decidí que tenía que hacer tiempo sí o sí para bordar un poco :). Bordé en SK Blue Moon, y asi es como se ve actualmente. Estoy un poco ansiosa en ver su cara, como es un HAED "pequeño" me preocupa que se haya perdido mucho detalle de la cara y que al final no quede bien :S
