Progress on my HAED and TUSAL

This week I've been working on SK Blue Moon; I'm almost done with page 2. Page 3 is already printed, I hope to make a start on it next week :)

Esta semana he estado avanzando SK Blue Moon; ya casi termino la página 2. La 3 ya esta impresa y espero comenzarla la próxima semana :)

Espero tengan un muy buen fin de semana. Planeo "crochetear" mucho :P La próxima semana les mostrare mis avances :)

Making progress on SK Blue Moon

Page 3 (and the last one) for SK Blue Moon will be emailed to all participants of the SAL by the end of the month. My goals is to have pages 1 - 2 finished by then. Last week I ordered the thread I'm to missing for this piece and I'm hoping it won't take to long for them to get here. 

This is how it looks as of last night...I've reached the bottom of page 2, and finished the larger blocks of colors :)

La página 3 (y la última) para SK Blue Moon será enviada a todos los participantes del SAL a fines de mes. Mi meta es tener las páginas 1 - 2  terminadas para ese entonces. La semana pasada pedí los hilos que me faltaban y espero no tarden mucho en llegar.

Así lo dejé anoche...ya alcancé el borde inferior de la página 2, y ya he completado los bloques grandes de color. 

This weeks progress

This week I've worked on SK Blue Moon, I'm a little over 50% done with her! Sorry about the dark pictures, but I took it last night just before I went to bed. I'll work a bit more on it tonight and then I'll put it away for the rest of the month so I can make progress on my other pieces.

Esta semana estuve avanzando SK Blue Moon, ya he terminado un poquito mas del 50% en ella! Perdonen que la foto este tan oscura, pero la tome anoche justo antes de acostarme. Continuare avanzando un poco mas esta noche y luego ya lo dejare hasta el próximo mes, así me puedo dedicar a mis otros proyectos.

A goal met and a new obsession

At the beginning of the month, I set myself to stitch a certain amount of stitches on SK Blue Moon in order to be able to finish the first two pages before the last one is sent out in August...I'm happy to report that this month I DID meet my goal *yay*

I'm really happy of how this one is stitching up =)

A principios de mes, me establecí bordar una cierta cantidad de puntadas en SK Blue Moon para poder tener listas las dos primera páginas antes de que envien la última en agosto...me alegra mucho informar que este mes SI CUMPLI mi meta *yay*

Me encanta como esta quedando este proyecto =)

For a while now I've been wanting to learn to crochet. I asked my sister Carol to teach me and on Sunday we finally sat down and she explained me how to do it =) . I think I'm hooked!!! :P
 I found a pattern for a bobble blanket on Ravelry but as I didn't want to start with something that big for my first project I've decided to do a  cushion based on that pattern. I chose really bright, happy color for it; it's going to be for Maria Fernanda's bed.
I started it on Sunday and after an hour of stitching I noticed I had added a few stitches on a row so I had to rip almost everything and restitch :S...this is my progress so far =)

Hace ya un tiempo quería aprender a tejer a crochet. Le pedí a mi hermana Carol que me explicará y finalemente el domingo nos sentamos juntas y me explicó cómo hacerlo =) . Creo que ya le cogí el gustito!!! :P
Encontré en Ravelry un patrón para una mantita con punto ¿? (mmm ni idea como llama en español) pero como no quería empezar con un proyecto tan grande voy a hacer una almohadón basándome en ese patrón. Elegí colores fuertes y alegres y cuando lo termine será para la cama de Maria Fernanda.
Lo empecé el domingo y luego de una hora más o menos note que había agregado puntos que no debía así que tuve que desbaratar casi todo y rehacer :S ... arriba una foto de como me va quedando =)

Confetti stitches = Slow progress

At the beginning of the month I set myself a goal to stitch at least 3,500 stitches on SK Blue Moon; I can already say I'm not going to fail my goal :( . This piece is confetti nightmare!!!

I enjoy working on it but progress is veeeery slow. Page 2 has already been sent to SAL member, looks like there's not as much confetti stitches as page 1, hopefully I can caught up and finish both pages when the last page is sent out in August.

A principios de mes, me marqué la meta de bordar al menos 3,500 puntadas en SK Blue Moon; desde ya puedo decir que esa meta no la voy a cumplir :( . Es una pesadilla la cantidad de confetti que tiene este diseño!!!

Disfruto trabajar en ella pero el avance es suuuuuuper lento. La página 2 ya ha sido enviada a los participantes del SAL, y aparentemente no tiene tanto confettti como la 1, esperemos que me pueda poner al día y terminar ambas páginas antes de que envien la última en agosto.

HAED progress and TUSAL

Since Monday I've been stitching on SK Blue Moon, I really enjoy working on her even with all the confetti stitches :)

I only stitched for a couple of hours each night, after putting Maria Fernanda to bed and I force myself to stop because I have to get up early to go to work :( if that wasn't the case for sure I'd continue to work on her for hours :P

Her upper body is starting to show!

El lunes retomé mi bordado en SK Blue Moon, a pesar de todo los cambios de colores me encanta trabajar en ella :)

Sólo he podido bordar un par de horas cada noche, luego de acostar a MariaFe y me obligo a terminar mi sesión porque al día siguiente tengo que levantarme temprano para ir a trabajar :( sino seguro continuaria varias horas más :P

Ya se comienza a ver la parte superior de su cuerpo!

It's TUSAL day, so here is a pic of how my little box of orts is looking :) Lots of pretty colors, this month I added bright colors :) 

Hoy es el dia de mostrar nuestras fotos para el TUSAL, así se ve mi cajita por el momento :) Se esta viendo muy colorida :)

IHSW results and TUSAL

This past weekend was February's IHSW, the project I chose to stitch was SK Blue Moon. I didn't get as much progress as I'd wanted but still managed to complete more than 300 stitches. The lady's face is starting to show, even though it is not completely finished I'm happy of the way it looks, I was worried it would be a blur.

From the pictures you probably won't notice a lot of differences because right now I'm filling in areas of single stitches.

El fin de semana pasado fue el IHSW de febrero, mi proyecto a bordar fue SK Blue Moon. A pesar que no bordé tanto como hubiese querido igual conseguí completar más de 300 puntadas en él. La cara de la mujer ha comenzado a aparecer, y a pesar que aún no esta completamente bordada estoy bastante contenta en como va quedando, estaba preocupada de que se viera muy borrosa.

Por las fotos probablemente no noten mucha diferencia, lo que pasa es que estoy llenando áreas de confetti

Progress and Goal review

Not much progress to show from last weeks stitching, only could find some time to stitch on the weekend while Maria Fernanda had her naps. I'm enjoying stitching on this piece.

I'm rotating this piece with Chelsea's project and a Christmas ornie; I recently discovered a new SAL, that I plan to start next month and add it to my rotation :) 

No tengo mucho que mostarles esta semana, sólo pude bordar durante el fin de semana mientras Maria Fernanda hacia la siesta. Estoy disfrutando bordar en este proyecto.

Estoy "rotando" este proyecto con el de Chelsea y una adorno de navidad;  hace poco descubrí uno nuevo SAL, que pienso iniciar el próximo mes y agregarlo a mi rotación.

These were my goals for January, though I didn't meet all of them I'm pretty happy of what I accomplished this month:

1. Start one project per day the first week of January (Sunday - Saturday) ~ Only started 3 new projects

2. Complete at least 3/4 of my page in Chelsea's Project ~ No, but have more than 50% done

3. Keep up the HAED SAL (SK Blue Moon) ~ Met my goal of adding at least 500 stitches on it each week


 My goals for February are:
1. Finish my page on Chelsea's Project
2. Complete 20% of SK Blue Moon
3. Finish Penguin's First Christmas

Estas fueron mis metas para enero, a pesar de no cumpli con todas ellas estoy contante con lo qu logré este mes:
1. Empezar un proyecto por día en la primera semana de enero (Domingo a Sábado) ~ Sólo comence 3 proyectos

2. Completar al menos 3/4 de mi página en el proyecto para Chelsea ~ No, pero he realizado más del 50%
3. Mantenerme al día en el SAL del foro de HAED (SK Blue Moon) ~ Cumplí mi meta de realizar al menos 500 puntadas por semana en este proyecto


Mis metas para febrero son:
1. Terminar mi página del proyecto para Chelsea
2. Completar 20% de SK Blue Moon
3. Terminar Penguin's First Christmas

HAEDs and January's IHSW

Last week was crazy...with Maria Fernanda's birthday, me having the flu and with tons of things to do at work I could only pick up a needle for a couple of hours one evening.  This week I decided no matter what I was going make some time to stitch :) I've worked on SK Blue Moon, and this is how it looks so far. I'm kind of anxious to see her face, I'm worried that because it's a "small" HAED (storykeep) a lot of the details on her face will be lost and it won't look right :S

La semana pasada fue un poco loca...el cumple de Maria Fernanda, yo estaba resfriada y además un montón de trabajo en la oficina así que sólo pude bordar por una par de horas una noche. Esta semana decidí que tenía que hacer tiempo sí o sí para bordar un poco :). Bordé en SK Blue Moon, y asi es como se ve actualmente. Estoy un poco ansiosa en ver su cara, como es un HAED "pequeño" me preocupa que se haya perdido mucho detalle de la cara y que al final no quede bien :S

This year I'm taking part on the International Hermit & Stitch Weekend SAL; this weekend is the first one of 2012. I'll work on Chelsea's Gift; I've not worked on it since last month, and I really want to have it done in February.

Here is a pic of Chelsea's Gift before the IHSW... I´ll post an after pic on Monday :) 

Este año he decidido participar en el International Hermit & Stitch Weekend SAL, este fin de semana es el primero del año. Mi proyecto a avanzar es Chelsea's Gift; no lo he tocado desde el mes pasado, y realmente quiero tener lista mi página en febrero.

Así es cómo se ve antes de IHSW, el lunes les muestro una foto de mi avance :)
