After a short break...

I'm back! I take a few days off because I had some health issues so I didn't feel like crafting, but yesterday I picked up my needles and hooks and had two finishes! *yay*

First I finished the second block on Into the Jungle by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Those toucans had a lot of color changes and I kept messing up but their done now :)

After finishing the toucans, I picked up my hooks and finished a baby lovey I had been working on before I got sick. She was almost done I just had to finish the hair and sew everything together. I think she turned out really cute °Ü°

A sleepy elephant lovey

I had very little time for crafting last week. I only managed to finish a little elephant lovey.

It's the first time I do a hexagon blanket and a really enjoyed making it! I thought it would be really complicated to make but it wasn't, just time consuming.

Another finish!!

In less than a week I have another cross stitch finish to share °Ü° !

Yesterday was Fernando's 40th birthday and I finished his gift just in time! I stitched all day on Saturday and went to the store that night looking for a frame and thankfully I found the perfect one! *phew*

The cacti design is from Fuzzy Fox Designs and I added the little heart and the quote: Juntos Siempre (in English "Always Together"). This was my daughter's birthday gift for her dad; the cactus with the hat represent her dad and she is the one with the flower ♥

Cactus design: Miguel and Chloe from Prickly but Cute
Cactus designer: Fuzzy Fox Designs
Stitch count 67w x 90h
Fabric: 32ct Chocolate Milk Lugana (Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie)
Threads: DMC and ThreadWorX (1028 - Wet Clay)
Started: 28. January. 2018
Finished: 03. February. 2018

There were no big celebrations. We went to eat ceviche, his favorite Peruvian dish and enjoyed some family time before he had to travel back to Ayacucho, where he works.

First cross stitch finish of the year

Last week I had my first cross stitch finish of 2018! My goal for this year is to at least have one finish a month, and like I said this is the first one of the year *yay*

In this part of the world we are in summer and it's really HOT, so this was a perfect little project to work on during this hot summer evenings. The design is a freebie by The Snowflower Diaries and you can download it from her blog. I'm still not sure how I want to finish it, but I'm sure I will find some inspiration soon °Ü°

Design: Summer by The Snowflower Diaries
Stitched on 32ct Antique Cotton Linen (R&R Reproduction) with DMC threads
Stitch count: 70w x 77h
Started: 01. January. 2018
Finished: 27. January. 2018

After finishing Summer, I decided to make a small birthday gift for Fernando (he's turning 40 this year). I wanted the design to feature a cactus so I went searching on Etsy and found a super cute SAL by Fuzzy Fox Designs called Prickly but Cute. The SAL started on August of last year and so far 7 small cacti have been released. For Fernando's gift I chose to stitch Miguel and Chloe, and here is my start on Miguel....isn't he adorable ♥-♥ !!!!

Also last week, I crocheted a little bit and finish a unicorn rattle. The design is from Yulia Mozhaiska. It was a quick and fun little project.

Yarn: 100% Cotton
Hook: 2.5mm

Until next week! Happy crafting!!!

WIPocalypse - January update

It's time to show my progress on my WIPocalypse projects.

This month I've worked on three pieces. Two HAED, Ice Princess and QS Snowflake Wonder, and started Into the Jungle the new SAL by The Frosted Pupkin Stitchery.

Progress as of January 7th
Progress as of January 27th

The question for this month is:

"January 27 – What SAL’s are you participating in this year? and If you are participating in the Olympic Stitching Challenge, what challenge are you accepting?  What are your goals?"

This year I will be participating in two SAL (at least for now). The first one is Into the Jungle by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery of which I already finished the first block and the other one is Farmhouse Christmas by Little House Needleworks.

And no, I won't be participating in the Olympic Stitching Challenge.

Into the Jungle SAL ~ January

I signed up for The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery's 2018 Stitch-A-Long. Lately, their designs where not appealing to me but the theme for this year is jungle animals and the teasers they showed were cute so I decided to give it a go.

I bought the kit and also the needleminder that they designed for this SAL.

January's block was release on the 15th and I stitched mine on the weekend. The first animal is a cute sloth. The only thing I changed was that I made him with a smile.

Will be back on the weekend with a WIPocalypse update.
