Esta semana terminé Peppa la cerdita! Y fue todo un éxito con mi hijita :)

Ya Peppa ha visitado el zoológico, la guardería y el parque de juegos.... estoy segura que compartirán muchas aventuras  más.

Ahora tengo que hacer el hermano menor de Peppa: George *Ü*

Un post cortito para mostrarle lo que he terminado esta semana.

A mediados de semana terminé el test que estaba haciendo para Ida Herter de un tierno conejito. Le agregue una pompom como colita y además le pinte las mejillas y orejas de rosa para que se vea aun más tierna *Ü*

Y el segundo proyecto que termine es de niñito que habia comenzado a hacer el mes pasado. El muñeco en sí lo terminé hace semanas pero sentía que le faltaba algo que le diera más personalidad por lo que al final decidí hacerle gafas.  Creo que se ve liiiindo  con sus gafas ♥!!!

Finished Mystery CAL ...finally

Remember that back in June I was participating in a Mystery CAL organized by Stacey Trock from Fresh Stitches....well I finally finished it! I had finished crocheting all the parts during the CAL but then got sidetracked with other project so I never got around sewing everything together. Finally got my act together and finish it last week :)

More tests...

I finished two test for Paula from OwlLuvCrochet this week. The first one is a gnome hat that a made using a tricolor yarn, it's the first time I use this yarn and I really like the way this yarn stitched up :)

Amigurumi: Hello Kitty and a little boy

Last week a lady asked me if I could do a Hello Kitty just like the one I had done a few week ago, of course I said "Yes!". And while we were exchanging emails to make the arrangements, she added to her order 3 amigurumi that represented her sons. This week I finished the HK and the amigurumi of her youngest son.

I had fun making this little boy, I had to do and undo many time but I'm happy with the results :) This weekend I'll finish the other two boys, nest week I'll them to you  :)

La semana pasada una chica me contacto para que le hiciera un Hello Kitty igual al que había hecho hace unas semanas, y mientras intercambiamos correos coordinando tiempos de entrega y demás añadió a su pedido 3 amigurumi que representaran a sus hijos. Esta semana terminé la Hello Kitty y uno de los niños (el menor de sus hijos).

A pesar que tuve hacer y deshacer varias veces realmente disfrute haciendo este muñequito y estoy contenta con cómo quedo :) Este fin de semana haré los otros dos, ya les mostraré como quedaron :)

A Ballerina

Only have a small finish to show you this week. A made a cute little ballerina, I overstuffed her body a little so she's a chubby little ballerina ♥

I really like how that the designer used crocodile stitch for her skirt, it really adds to the cuteness factor *Ü*

A Hello Kitty

I didn't finish the Fresh Stitches' Mystery CAL this week, like I had hope to, so you'll have to wait one more week to see a photo of it finished :)

After my disappointment a few months ago with Hello Kitty's friend: My Melody (link here), I swore I would never do any more dolls like Hello Kitty and My Melody because they are very difficult to replicate. But I was asked by 2 family members to make a Hello Kitty for them, I wasn't thrilled with the idea but said I would try and only would give it to them if I was happy with it :P

Well here is the first one of them ... I took my time with the placement of eyes and nose and I really like how it came out :)

No pude terminar el Mystery CAL de Fresh Stitches esta semana, como hubiera querido, así que tendrán que esperar una semana más para ver el resultado final :)

Luego de mi decepción, hace unos meses, con el amigo de Hello Kitty : Melody (link aquí) prometí que nunca más haría un muñeco de Hello Kitty o Melody ya que son muy difíciles de replicar. Pero dos familiares me pidieron que les hiciera un Hello Kitty para ellas, no me fascinó la idea pero igual acepté con la condición que sólo se las daría si estaba contenta con el resultado :P

Bueno aquí les muestro la primera de ellas... esta vez me tome mi tiempo en la posición de los ojos y nariz, y realmente estoy contenta con cómo quedo :)

Angry Birds

A friend asked me to make some characters of the Angry Bird games for her 2 young nephews, who are crazy about them. I chose what I think are the most popular ones: Red (cardinal), Chuck (Yellow Bird), Bomb (Black bird), Minion (Pig).

It took me a while to complete them because I got sidetracked with other projects and also we didn't set a day of when she wanted them ;) I had to make the body of the pig twice because I ran out of green yarn and couldn't find a match in my stash or LYS :S

I'm pretty happy with them, my favorite is the yellow bird...I like his triangular shape :)

Una amiga me pidió que le hiciera algunos personajes del juego de Angry Bird para 2 de sus sobrinos que se mueren por ellos. Elegí hacer lo que creo son los más populares: Red (el cardinal rojo), Chuck (el amarillo), Bomb (el negro) y Minion (el cerdo).

Me tomó un tiempo completar el set pues continuamente me distraía con otros proyectos y además no establecimos una fecha de cuándo se los entregaría ;) Tuve que hacer el cuerpo del cerdo dos veces ya que me quede sin lana y no encontré otra igual entre mis lanas ni en las mercerías :S

Estoy bastante contenta de cómo quedaron...mi favorito es el ave verde, me gusta su forma triangular :)

Angry Bird hat

I've been crocheting few Angry Bird amigurumi for a friend (will post photos soon when I finish all 4 that she requested), while I was at it I decided to make a hat for my 6yo nephew. For the beanie I used a pattern from UniqueEarthling and then added the details to make it look like the red cardinal.

I made my daughter model it for the photo and told her to make an Angry bird face LOL

He estado tejiendo algunos pajarracos de Angry Bird para una amiga (mostraré fotos cuando termine los 4 que me ha pedido), mientras estaba con el tema decidí hacerle un gorrito a mi sobrino de 6 años. Para el gorro use un patrón de UniqueEarthling y luego le agregue algunos detalles para que pareciera el cardinal rojo de Angry Bird.

Hice que mi gorda modelará el gorrito y le pedí que pusiera cara de Angry Bird para la foto jijiji

Didn't have time to update my blog last week so today I'll show you the 2 finishes I had since my last update.

Zork the Alien

My daughter had a birthday party to attend last Saturday. My goal this year is to not buy gifts but instead make them ;) So when she got the birthday invitation I searched for the perfect thing to make for the little boy who was turning 2.

Finally, I decided to make Zork the Alien. He's been on my to-do list for months now and I thought he would be a great companion for the little boy :) I didn't want to make him in one color and didn't have a multicolor yarn that I liked for him, so I made him in stripes (I love stripes! :P). I think he turned out adorable, I hope the birthday boy liked him :)

This cute alien is a design from Stacey Trock and it's from her book "Crocheted Softies".

Mi hija tuvo una fiesta de cumpleaños el sábado pasado. Mi meta este año es no comprar los regalos sino hacerlos :) ; así que cuando nos llegó la invitación a casa me puse a buscar lo que le haría para el pequeño que cumplía 2. 

Finalmente, elegí hacer a Zork, el alienígena. Ha estado en mi lista de "cosas por hacer" por meses y me pareció que sería el compañero perfecto para el pequeño. No quería hacer en un solo color y como no tenía tampoco una lana multicolor que me gustará lo hice a rayas (me encantan las rayas! :P) Creo que quedo lindo, espero le haya gustado a cumpleañero :)

Hats!

Winter is starting to make its appearance in this part of the world, so I decided my daughter needed some new winter accessories ;)

I chose to make a sock monkey hat for her, found the pattern here. The hat was super easy to make and fitted my daughter perfectly :)  I made the flower following the instructions I found here.

Now I need to convince my daughter to use hats as I want to make more for her ;)

El invierno ya esta haciendo su aparición por Lima, así que decidí hacerle algunos accesorios de invierno para mi hija :)

hacerle primero un gorro de "sock-monkey", encontré el patrón aquí. Un gorro super fácil de hacer y le quedo perfecto a mi hija :) Para la flor usé este patrón que también es gratis. 
Ahora tengo que convencer a mi hija a que use gorritos ya que quiero hacerle más ;)

The strippy puppy and a dragon lovey ♥

I have two finishes to share this week. The first one is a replica of a puppy I made a couple of months ago. My uncle's wife saw a picture of it and asked me to make one for her using the same colors. I loved working  this cutie :)

This week I've finished my biggest and favorite amigurumi so far :) I LOVE him! 

This adorable lion measures approximately 35 cm when standing and is crocheted through the back loop.

The mane was done with loop stitch. I was worried this stitch would be too difficult for my skills but it was not difficult at all, only time consuming... the mane took me almost two hours to do :P

Esta semana hice el amigurumi más grande que he hecho hasta ahora y es mi favorito también :)  Me ENCANTA! Este tierno leoncito mide aproximadamente 35 cm cuando esta parado y lo he tejido usando sólo la parte de atrás de la cadeneta (back loop).

La melena esta hecha con punto bucle. Esta preocupada que este punto fuera muy difícil para mis habilidades con el crochet pero no es para nada difícil sólo que es un toma tiempo hacerlo ... sólo la melena me tomó dos horas hacerla :P

FO Friday: My First Lovey ♥

Since I started crocheting I've been wanting to make a lovey (security blanket). I got the opportunity to make one this week when Briana Olsen (designer of bowtykes) opened a thread on her group asking for some people to test a cow lovey. I took the chance and offered to test for her, I'm SO glad I did because I love the result and they are not complicated at all to make :)

I see myself making many loveys in the future ♥

Desde que aprendí a tejer a crochet he querido hacer una mantita de apego. Esta semana tuve la oportunidad de hacer una cuando Briana Olsen (diseñadora de bowtykes) pidió voluntarios en su grupo para "testear" una mantita de vaca.  Enseguida tomé la oportunidad y me ofrecí a hacerlo, me alegro mucho haberlo hecho porque me encantó el resultado final y no fue para nada complicado de hacer :)

Me veo haciendo muchas de estas mantitas en el futuro ♥

The first one is a hat I made for my daughter. I don't like features of the dog/bear that I've added to it, so I'm going  remove them and just leave the ears ;) 

The good thing is that I think Fernanda looks cute with whatever she wears ♥

Esta semana no estoy contenta con los proyectos que he terminado :/

El primero es una gorra que hice para mi hija. No me gusta cómo ha quedado la cara del oso/perro, así que sólo voy a dejar las orejitas ;)

FO Friday: An Easter gift and a Scrappy Monster

In my previous FO Friday post, I said that Amy the Lamb was my last finish for March, but I was wrong ;) ... I had two more finishes on the weekend :)

 

The first one is a little chick I made for my daughter for Easter. Again I crocheted it through the back loop only and added blush to her cheeks for extra "cuteness" :P.

 

Although you can't tell from the pic but this softie measure 20 cm, the perfect size for my 2 year old to give her hugs ♥

En mi post del viernes pasado, dije que la ovejita Amy era mi último proyecto que había terminado en marzo, pero estaba equivocada ... el fin de semana terminé dos proyectos más que sí serían mis últimos proyectos de marzo.

El primero es un pollito que le hice a mi hija por Pascuas. Como la mayoría de los muñecos que tejó este también lo hice sólo usando la parte de atrá de la cadeneta (BLO - back loop only) y le añadí color a sus mejillas para que se vean más tierno :P

Aunque no se pueda apreaciar en la foto, este pollito mide 20 cm de alto, tamaño perfecto para que mi pequeña de dos años lo apachurre ♥

The first thing we had to do was a magic ball; I did mine with worsted weight yarn mostly in shades of blues. I wanted the colors to change frequently so I cut my scarps in short lenghts and I'm  very happy with my decision.

Stacey de Fresh Stitches ha organizado un Scrap-A-Long en su grupo en Ravelry. Disfruté tanto mis participaciones anteriores que decidí también ser parte de este. Lo primero que teniamos que hacer era hacer una "bola mágica" (magic ball) con lanas que nos había sobrado de proyectos anteriores; yo hice la mía de lanas en tonos azules en su mayoría. Quería que los cambios de colores sean frecuentes así que corte mis lanas en longitudes cortas y la verdad estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho así!

 

 

Above you can see a photo of my magic ball and the start my little critter and below is a pic of the end result: Zoink the Scrappy Monster :P I love the end result, this time I used felt for the eye and I'm glad I did as I think that the big pupil makes him even cuter :P

FO Friday: Last finish for March

Only one finish to show you this week. I've been cross stitching a bit and my little girl has been really needy in the evenings leaving little time to do my crafts. I finished this lamb last week but didn't have time to take pics of her last week so I'm sharing her now ;)

I really like the simplicity of this pattern and the fact that the designer gives you options to make boy or a girl version :) For the fur I used a yarn that's a mix of of wool, alpaca and acrylic giving it a "hairy" look ( I need to go to the yarn store to see what other colors they have :P)

I added a little star to jumper (pattern here) and also made a little bow to make her look more girly :)

Sólo tengo un proyecto terminado que mostrarles esta semana. He esta bordando un poco y además mi pequeñita ha estado un poco engreida dejandome poco tiempo para las manualidades. Terminé esta ovejita la semana pasada pero no tuve tiempo de tomarle fotos así que se les muestro ahora ;)

Me gusto mucho la simplicidad del patrón y el hecho que la diseñadora te da las opciones de la versión masculino o femenino. Para el pelaje usé un hilo que es una mezcla de lana, alpaca y acrílico que le da una aspecto "peludo" (tengo que ir nuevamente a la mercería a ver que otros colores tienen :P)

Añadí una pequeña estrella al vestido (patrón aquí) y también una lacito para hacerla más "niñita"

Two more finishes to show you this week.

My daughter had another birthday party from one of her classmates, so I made this cute little airplane for the little boy. The pattern is a design by Ana Paula Rimoli and it's from her book Amigurumi Two".

The windows are made of felt, I'm not happy with my sewing skills :/ but overall I think he looks cute :)

 

Esta semana tengo dos proyectos más para enseñarles.

Mi hija tuvo otra fiesta de cumple esta semana de uno de sus compañeritos de salón, así que hice este  avioncito para el pequeño. El diseño es de Ana Paula Rimoli y viene en su libro Amigurumi Two.

Las ventanas son de fieltro, no estoy muy contenta con mis habilidades en la costura :/ pero en conjunto creo que quedo bastante tierno :)

FO Friday

This week I have two small finishes to show you.

The first one is a little robot I made as a birthday gift for a little boy who was turning 2 years old. My daughter came home from pre-school with her invitation on Thursday and the party was on Saturday, so I had to make something simple and fast! This cute robot is from a book called Amigurumi Two by Ana Paula Rimoli, he measures 20 cm not including the antenna :)

 

Esta semana tengo dos proyectos pequeños que mostrarles.

El primero  es un robot que hice como regalo de cumpleaños para un niño de 2 años. Mi hija llegó del pre-escolar con la invitación del cumple un jueves y la fiesta era el sábado, así que elegpi algo simple y rápido para hacer. Este tierno robot es un diseño que viene en el libro Amigurumi Two de Ana Paula Rimoli, mide unos 20 cm sin incluir la antena :)

The second project I finished was a funny cat a tested for Cheezombie Design. This was a fun and quick project (about 3 hours). I'll probably give it to DBF to use as a coaster, he love cat so I think he will  love this one ;)

El segundo proyecto que terminé fue esta gracioso gato de Cheezombie Design que me ofrecí a revisar para verificar si había errores antes que el patrón salga a la venta. Fue un proyecto divertido y super rápido (demoré unas 3 horas en completarlo). Probablemente se lo de a mi novio, a quien le encantan los gatos, para que lo use como posavaso ;)
