Summer SAL progress and a fish

I'm behind on my Mystery SAL, part 2-3-4 have been released already. I'm almost done with part 2 and hopefully next week I will be able to catch up with everyone. I'm very happy with the colors in piece and I think the fabric I chose is perfect for it!

Estoy atrasada con mi avance en el Mystery SAL, las partes 2-3-4 ya han sido enviadas; ya casi termino con la pista 2 espero poder ponerme al día la próxima semana. Estoy muy contenta con el colorido del diseño y creo que la tela le queda perfecto!

I also finished an amigurumi this week. I was asked to do a zebra fish and it going to Austria! (that's a long trip form Peru!)

También termine un amigurumi esta semana. Me pidieron que hiciera un pez cebra que viajará hasta Austria (le espera un largo viaje desde Peru!)

Finished Mystery CAL ...finally

Remember that back in June I was participating in a Mystery CAL organized by Stacey Trock from Fresh Stitches....well I finally finished it! I had finished crocheting all the parts during the CAL but then got sidetracked with other project so I never got around sewing everything together. Finally got my act together and finish it last week :)

Amber ~ Clue #2: Done!

On Monday I finished the second clue for Fresh Stitches Mystery CAL, just in time for the release of the last clue on Tuesday :) 

I'm currently working on the last clue and hopefully I'll finish this project this week so I can share a pic of it on Friday :) 

I've already scroll to the last page of the third clue to see what it is and I love it! So glad I signed up for this  CAL ;)

El lunes terminé la segunda lista del "Mystery CAL" de Fresh Stitches, justo a tiempo para recibir la última pista que fue publicada el martes :)

Actualmente estoy avanzando la última pista que espero terminar esta semana para poder mostrarles el resultado final el viernes :)

Yo no aguante las ganas y ya ví la última página de la tercera pista que es donde muestran lo que es, y me encanta!!! Estoy super contenta de haber participado en este CAL :)

Amber ~ Clue #1: Done!

Fresh Stitches is hosting its second Mystery CAL and the first clue was released yesterday :). I had so much fun last year, with Archer's Mystery CAL, that I had to join this one too °Ü°

Last night I finished the first clue (8 pieces in total). I'm still clueless of what it might be... in Fresh Stitches Ravelry group , the majority is voting it's a kangaroo.

Now I have to wait for next week, when clue # 2 is realeased.

Fresh Stitches esta organizando su segundo "Mystery CAL" y la primera pista salió ayer :). Me divertí tanto el año pasado, con el Mystery CAL de Archer, que tenía que participar nuevamente en este °Ü°

Anoche terminé la primera pista (8 piezas en total). Por el momento no tengo idea de que animal se tratará... en Ravelry en el grupo de Fresh Stitches, la mayoría cree que es un canguro.

Ahora tengo que esperar hasta la próxima semana, que es cuando la segunda pista es  publicada.

Zork the Alien

My daughter had a birthday party to attend last Saturday. My goal this year is to not buy gifts but instead make them ;) So when she got the birthday invitation I searched for the perfect thing to make for the little boy who was turning 2.

Finally, I decided to make Zork the Alien. He's been on my to-do list for months now and I thought he would be a great companion for the little boy :) I didn't want to make him in one color and didn't have a multicolor yarn that I liked for him, so I made him in stripes (I love stripes! :P). I think he turned out adorable, I hope the birthday boy liked him :)

This cute alien is a design from Stacey Trock and it's from her book "Crocheted Softies".

Mi hija tuvo una fiesta de cumpleaños el sábado pasado. Mi meta este año es no comprar los regalos sino hacerlos :) ; así que cuando nos llegó la invitación a casa me puse a buscar lo que le haría para el pequeño que cumplía 2. 

Finalmente, elegí hacer a Zork, el alienígena. Ha estado en mi lista de "cosas por hacer" por meses y me pareció que sería el compañero perfecto para el pequeño. No quería hacer en un solo color y como no tenía tampoco una lana multicolor que me gustará lo hice a rayas (me encantan las rayas! :P) Creo que quedo lindo, espero le haya gustado a cumpleañero :)

FO Friday: An Easter gift and a Scrappy Monster

In my previous FO Friday post, I said that Amy the Lamb was my last finish for March, but I was wrong ;) ... I had two more finishes on the weekend :)

 

The first one is a little chick I made for my daughter for Easter. Again I crocheted it through the back loop only and added blush to her cheeks for extra "cuteness" :P.

 

Although you can't tell from the pic but this softie measure 20 cm, the perfect size for my 2 year old to give her hugs ♥

En mi post del viernes pasado, dije que la ovejita Amy era mi último proyecto que había terminado en marzo, pero estaba equivocada ... el fin de semana terminé dos proyectos más que sí serían mis últimos proyectos de marzo.

El primero es un pollito que le hice a mi hija por Pascuas. Como la mayoría de los muñecos que tejó este también lo hice sólo usando la parte de atrá de la cadeneta (BLO - back loop only) y le añadí color a sus mejillas para que se vean más tierno :P

Aunque no se pueda apreaciar en la foto, este pollito mide 20 cm de alto, tamaño perfecto para que mi pequeña de dos años lo apachurre ♥

Stacey from Fresh Stitches is hosting a Scrap-A-Long in her Ravelry group. I've had so much fun participating on previous ones that I had to join in this time too. The first thing we had to do was a magic ball; I did mine with worsted weight yarn mostly in shades of blues. I wanted the colors to change frequently so I cut my scarps in short lenghts and I'm  very happy with my decision.

Stacey de Fresh Stitches ha organizado un Scrap-A-Long en su grupo en Ravelry. Disfruté tanto mis participaciones anteriores que decidí también ser parte de este. Lo primero que teniamos que hacer era hacer una "bola mágica" (magic ball) con lanas que nos había sobrado de proyectos anteriores; yo hice la mía de lanas en tonos azules en su mayoría. Quería que los cambios de colores sean frecuentes así que corte mis lanas en longitudes cortas y la verdad estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho así!

 

 

Above you can see a photo of my magic ball and the start my little critter and below is a pic of the end result: Zoink the Scrappy Monster :P I love the end result, this time I used felt for the eye and I'm glad I did as I think that the big pupil makes him even cuter :P

FO Friday: Amigurumi

On January I signed up to participate on an amigurumi swap that was organized on Fresh Stitches' Ravelry group. The swap was named "Classified Cupid Swap", and I was chosen to send an amigurumi to Diane (a.k.a djuseless).

When I got her name I went to visit her project page on Ravelry and saw that she had Stacey's "Choose you own dragon adventure" pattern as a favorite so that's why I decided to make a dragon for her ;) , I also notice that she had knitted many striped monsters and that's why this little dragon, that I've named Diana, has stripped tummy and wings :P.

Diane received my package this week and I'm so happy to know that she likes her new dragon :)

 

En enero me anoté para participar en un intercambio de amigurumi organizado por el grupo de Fresh Stitches en Ravelry. El intercambio fue llamado "Classified Cupid Swap" y a mi me toco ser el cupido de Diane (djuseless).

Una vez recibido el nombre de mi compañera visité su página de proyectos en Ravelry y noté que tenía marcado el patrón "Choose your own dragon adventure" como favorito por lo que decidí hacerle un dragón :), también noté que había tejido varios monstruos rayados y es por eso que este dragoncito, al que nombre Diana, tiene la panzita y las alas rayadas :P

For my daughter's birthday party I made some amigurumis to decorate a corner of the house. These critters are designs by Stacey Trock (Fresh Stitches), my favorite is the hermit crab. DBF requested one for him so I'll be making another one very soon ;)

También hice una sirenita. Es un diseño de Mia Zamora (Owlishly). Me parece super tierna pero hacer el pelo resulto una pesadilla, las explicaciones no eran muy claras en el patrón, así que tuve que improvisar un poco. Igual creo que quedo adorable ♥ !

There is a Slug-A-Long going on Fresh Stitches Ravelry group; I had the pattern so I joined in. Here is my first slug (I plan to do a couple more ;) ). It's done with crochet thread #8 and a 1.75 mm hook so she is teeny-tiny :)

En el grupo de Fresh Stitches en Ravelry se esta realizando un Slug-A-Long; como ya tenía el patrón decidí participar. Aquí les muestro mi primera babosa (planeo hacer un par más ;) ). La hice con hilo de crochet #8 y crochet de 1.75mm por lo que mi babosa es pequeñita :)

Y para punto cruz, terminé el primer bloque de Woodland Sampler. Para enero bordamos una tierna pareja de venados. Lo estoy realizando sobre lino 32ct Desert Sand  (uno sobre dos) con hilos DMC.

This week I have two finishes to show you.

The first one is Hootie the Owl, a pattern from Stacey Trock book: "Crocheted Softies". A friend asked me to make her a small owl. She gave me some crochet threads in her favorite colors and I chose 3 of them for this owl.
I've sent her some photos and she like him :P She's coming by my house tomorrow to pick him up :).

Esta semana tengo dos amigurumis que mostrarles.
El primero es el buho Hootie, un diseño del libro "Crocheted Softies" de Stacey Trock. Una amiga me pidió que le hiciera un pequeño buho. Me dio algunos hilos para crochet y de esos elegpi 3 colores para el buho.
Le he enviado fotos y me dice que le gusta. Vendra por casa mañana a recogerlo :)

Mystery revealed!

Finally I've put together all the pieces of Fresh Stitches's Mystery CAL...it was a cute doggie that we were crocheting!!! I think he's adorable♥
When Maria Fe saw him she asked if it was for her :/, I had to explain that it was a Christmas gift for a little boy. I offered to make one for her soon and she wants it to be red :)
I had a lot of fun with this CAL :) Stacey mentioned that she might do another one in May. I hope she does :), I'll definitively sign up for that one too ;)

Por fin uní todas las piezas de CAL de Fresh Stitches...el resultado fue un lindo perrito ♥ !!!
Cuando MariaFe lo vio me preguntó si era para ella :/, le tuve que explicar que era un regalo de Navidad para otro niño, pero le he ofrecido hacerle uno para ella y me pidio que sea en "ojo" (osea rojo :P)
Me resultó muy entretenido este CAL :), Stacey ha mencionado que planea hacer otro en mayo. Espero que sea así :), definitivamente me anotaré para ese también ;)

Clue #03 of Mystery CAL

All parts of clue #3 are done! Now I'll have to wait until Thursday to get the final clue where we will receive step by step instructions on how to assemble this amigurumi. I tried to put together all parts in different positions and guess what it is but couldn't figure it out...I'm completely clueless of what animal it is!!!

 

Ya estan listas todas las partes de la pista #03! Ahora tengo que esperar al jueves para recibir la última pista donde nos darán instrucciones de cómo unir todo para completar el amigurumi. Traté de poner las piezas en diferentes posiciones para así adivinar que podría ser...pero aún no tengo la mínima idea de qué animal es.

 

Clue #02 of Mystery CAL

On the weekend I finished the three pieces that belonged to clue #02 of the Mystery CAL I'm participating along with other members of Fresh Stitches's Ravelry group.  We now that there are a total of 10 parts for this amigurumi and so far we've done 7 :)

 

Durante el fin de semana terminé las tres partes correspondientes a la pista #02 del Mystery CAL en el que estoy participando junto con otros miembros del grupo de Fresh Stitches en Ravelry. Sabemos que hay un total de 10 partes para este amigurumi y hasta el momento ya hemos hecho 7 :)

 Here are all pieces of clue #01 and 02 together. I've been trying to figure out what animal it might be...but I have no idea!!

Next clue is out on Thursday...can't wait!!

Aquí están las piezas de las pistas #01 y 02. He estado tratando adivinar de qué animal se puede tratar ... pero hasta el momento no tengo ni la menor idea!!

 

 

Clue #1 ~ Done!

Last week started the Mystery CAL that Stacey Trock (designer of Fresh Stitches) is organizing on her Ravelry group. Every Thursday for 4 weeks she'll send us clues to crochet, during that time we won't know what it is we are crocheting...the only thing we know is that its an animal.

Last night I started and finished the first clue...so far I have no idea what animal it could be ?

The pattern called for two colors of yarns, my choices are gray (main color) and turquoise/light blue (contrasting color).

La semana pasada comenzó el Mystery CAL que Stacey Trock (diseñadora de Fresh Stitches) está organizando en su grupo de Ravelry. Cada jueves por 4 semana enviará pistas para realizar a crochet, durante ese tiempo no tendremos idea de que es lo que estamos tejiendo...lo único que sabemos es que es un animal.

Anoche comenzé y terminé lo que correspondía a la primera pista...hasta ahora no tengo la mínima idea de qué animal puede ser ¿?

El patrón indicaba dos colores de lana, mi elección fue gris (color principal) y turqueza/celeste (color de contraste).

Happy Friday everyone!

A couple of weeks ago, a friend asked me if I could make an amigurumi butterfly for her. I said: "sure!!!" εїз and then went hunting on the Internet for a pattern. I searched and searched but couldn't find any that I liked ύ.ὺ Then I remembered seeing a cute butterfly on a Ravelry group I'm a member of.

Chloe (a.k.a. carfis11) had adapted a slug pattern from Fresh Stitches and added wings to it to turn it in an adorable butterfly. I asked her if I could copy her idea and once she agreed I started crocheting! I love love love this butterfly ♥ and will make another one for my little girl °Ü°

I've named her Rommy the Butterfly as my friends name is Romelia :Þ

Hace un par de semana, una amiga me pregunto si le podia hacer una mariposa amigurumi. Le dije: "claro que sí!!!" εїз y enseguida me puse a buscar en internet un patrón. Busqué y busqué pero no puse encontrar uno que me gustara ύ.ὺ Luego recordé haber visto uno linda mariposa en un grupo de Ravelry al que pertenezco.

Chloe (carfis11) había adaptado el patrón de una babosa de Fresh Stitches al que añadió alas y la convirtió en una tierna mariposita. Le pregunté si podía copiar su idea y una vez que aceptó me puse manos a la obra! Me ENCANTA cómo quedó ♥,pronto haré otra para mi pequeña °Ü°

La he llamado Rommy, la mariposa ya que el nombre de mi amiga es Romelia :Þ

Sammy the Dragon

Things didn't go as planned (they never do, no?). I had planned finishing at least three things but I only managed one :/ But I'm happy with my finish :). 

Stacey Trock ran a dragon CAL on Ravelry and I just had to join, sadly I couldn't finish him on time as the CAL ended on the 16th :( From the pattern you could chose between two kinds on tails, eyes, horns to add scales or leave them out. A really FUN project! 

He is going to be a birthday gift for a little boy who is turning one next month ... I hope he's well appreciated :)

Las cosas no salieron como había planeado (siempre es así, no?). Había planeado terminar tres cosas  pero sólo terminé uno :/ Pero igual estoy contenta :)

Stacey Trock organizó un CAL de dragones en Ravelry y decidí participar, lamentablemente no pude terminarlo dentro del plazo del CAL que terminó en 16 :( Del patrón se podía escoger entre dos tipos de cola, ojos, cuernos y ponerle o no escamas. Definitivamente un proyecto MUY entretenido!

Se irá a vivir con un pequeño que cumplirá un año el próximo mes ... espero lo quiera y apapache mucho :P

Two small finishes

On Monday I stitched this month's dessert. This month was a candy apple! 

Only three more desserts and this cute piece will be done! I hope The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery do another SAL next year...their designs are fun to stitch :)

Anoche terminé de bordar el postre del mes. La elección esta vez fue una manzana acaramelada!

Sólo faltan tres postres y esta linda pieza estará terminada! Espero los diseñadores organicen otro SAL el próximo año....sus diseños son divertidos de bordar :)

I've also crocheted another bee :) This time it was a free pattern by Stacey Trock (FreshStitches). Her designs are ment to be crocheted using only the back loop, which creates a ridge in the surface of the toy...I like the look of it :) . This bee fits in the palm of my hand and it was done for DBF.

Además he realizado otra abeja a crochet :) Esta vez lo hice guiandome de un patron gratuito de Stacey Trock (FreshStitches). Esta abejita cabe en la palma de mi mano y lo he realizado para mi novio.
