A chimpanzee

Last year I signed up for the Into the Jungle SAL by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I didn't keep up with it so I'm still working on it. Last night, I finished the 7th block, the chimpanzee.

The chimpanzee was the first thing I stitched in that block and I messed up the placement so I had to make little adjustments to the block.

El año pasado, me anoté al SAL de The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, Into the Jungle.

Black Hat Society is done!

On Friday I had my third cross stitch finish of the year! I finally finished Black Hat Society by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.

I started this piece last year but, as always, I got distracted with other projects so it took me a little over a year to finish it :P

I have an idea of how I want to finish it but that will have to wait until next week because I have a few crochet pieces I need to finish before Monday.

Design: Black Hat Society by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
Stitch count 129w x 106h
Fabric: 28ct Echo Cashel Linen (Pïcture This Plus)
Threads: DMC
Started: 17. September. 2017
Finished: 21. September. 2018

I want this done in time for Halloween 2018!

Yesterday I worked on Black Hat Society for about half an hour and I managed to finish the little pumpkin. The only thing left to do is a witch...

Projects I need to finish this month!

Halloween is fast approaching so need to finish Black Hat Society soon so I can display it this year in my home. I started this piece last year in September and I'm still working on it!

As you can see I don't have much left to do so I think I can finish it sometime this month.

💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

By the end of the month, I'll be visiting my daughter's classroom to talk about her and show pictures and videos of when she was a baby up until now.

Parents usually take small gifts for each child when they visit; so Maria Fernanda asked me if I could make amigurumi because she always tells them that I make stuffed toys for her. So now I need to finish 29 small amigurumi for my visit on August 29th.

For the boys, I chose to make mini sharks and for the girls, kawaii watermelon slices. So far I've done 3 sharks of 15 I need to make, and 1 watermelon of 14. I need to get busy with these or I won't finish them on time!!!

The crocodile block

I finished May's block of the Into the Jungle Stitch-A-Long. I will now put it away for a few weeks to work on my other wips.

The next one in my rotation is Soda's Stitch G-39 Alphabet Learning. I only have four more letter to add and it will be done! I'll post a pic of that piece on my next update.

Finishes and progress

Since my last update, I finished two amigurumi: a tiny beagle puppy and a mosquito.
I usually don't make amigurumi this small but the beagle would be used as a keychain so it needed to be small.

Pattern:  Beagle by Mitsuki Hoshi
Book: Ami Ami Dogs
Yarn: 100% Acrylic
Hook: 3mm
Started: 16. June. 2018
Finished: 20. June. 2018

And last night, I finished a mosquito that will be traveling to Spain. This is fun and fast design to work, specially if you just started making amigurumi.

Pattern:  Dale the Mosquito by Fresh Stitches
Yarn: 100% Acrylic
Hook: 4mm (G)
Started: 22. June. 2018
Finished: 25. June. 2018

I've also been working on finishing the fifth block of Into the Jungle. This block is represented by a crocodile accompanied by three black birds (at least I think they are birds). Only a few more lines of water to add and I'm done with this block!

WIPocalypse ~ March update

Since my last WIPocalypse update I've  only worked on 2 pieces. Stitching time is very limited right now so my progress is slow.

I'm keeping up to date with TFPS SAL: Into the Jungle (I'll be doing the top and bottom frames that were released on February at the end of the year) and I've completed another letter of Alphabet Learning (SO-G39) by Soda Stitch.

The question for this month is:

"What newer designers and product creators (fabric or floss dyeing, etc) out there have you discovered and recommend?"

I'm on a stash diet right now so I'm not actively searching for new designs or designers. But one that I discovered on Etsy this year is Fuzzy Fox Designs. The designs are very colorful and fun, and the instructions on the charts are clear and easy to follow.

I used two of her cacti designs to make a birthday present, you can see my finish here.

A small update

Last week was pretty busy at work so I had very little time to do my crafts But I did finish March's block of Into the Jungle, so now I'm up to date with this SAL :)

After a short break...

I'm back! I take a few days off because I had some health issues so I didn't feel like crafting, but yesterday I picked up my needles and hooks and had two finishes! *yay*

First I finished the second block on Into the Jungle by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. Those toucans had a lot of color changes and I kept messing up but their done now :)

After finishing the toucans, I picked up my hooks and finished a baby lovey I had been working on before I got sick. She was almost done I just had to finish the hair and sew everything together. I think she turned out really cute °Ü°

Pattern:  Watermelon Doll Lovey by Yulia Mozhaiska
Yarn: 100% Cotton
Hook: 2.5mm(toy) - 3mm (blanket)
Started: 26. February. 2018
Finished: 11. March. 2018

WIPocalypse - January update

It's time to show my progress on my WIPocalypse projects.

This month I've worked on three pieces. Two HAED, Ice Princess and QS Snowflake Wonder, and started Into the Jungle the new SAL by The Frosted Pupkin Stitchery.

The question for this month is:

"January 27 – What SAL’s are you participating in this year? and If you are participating in the Olympic Stitching Challenge, what challenge are you accepting?  What are your goals?"

This year I will be participating in two SAL (at least for now). The first one is Into the Jungle by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery of which I already finished the first block and the other one is Farmhouse Christmas by Little House Needleworks.

And no, I won't be participating in the Olympic Stitching Challenge.

Into the Jungle SAL ~ January

I signed up for The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery's 2018 Stitch-A-Long. Lately, their designs where not appealing to me but the theme for this year is jungle animals and the teasers they showed were cute so I decided to give it a go.

I bought the kit and also the needleminder that they designed for this SAL.

January's block was release on the 15th and I stitched mine on the weekend. The first animal is a cute sloth. The only thing I changed was that I made him with a smile.

Will be back on the weekend with a WIPocalypse update.

First finish of 2015!!

After losing my stitching mojo for almost two year...in May I felt the need to pick up my cross stitch again *Ü*!!

I chose to finish Woodland Sampler by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery that I had started in 2013. Last week I finally finished it and my daughter loves it and  wants it for her bedroom.

I started a new project las night so I'll be back soon with a progress pic ;)

Little Lightning Bug

Finally I have something cross stitch related to show you :) . Last night I finished the sixth block of Woodland Sampler. I'm now on 50% with this piece :) For June we had to stitch a little firefly in a jar.

This week I'll do this month block, which is a super cute fox ♥ ... I'll show pic next week ;)

Mr Gnomey & the Sprout Gang

Almost forgot to show you my progress on Woodland Sampler. This month's block was cute little gnome, a fun and quick stitch :)

~~~~~oOo~~~~~
Casi olvido enseñarles mi progreso en Woodland Sampler. El bloque de este mes era un pequeño gnomo, muy rapidito y fácil de bordar :)
April's block: Jackalope
Finished this months block of Woodland Sampler: Jackie the Jackalope. I had to search Google to find out what a jackalope was, I had never heard of it. What I learned was that the Jackalope is a mythical animal of North American folklore, a rabbit with antelope horns and sometimes a pheasant tail... everyday you learn something new ;)
I think the designers of this sampler have made a cute version of this creature :)
Terminé "Jackie, the Jackalope", el bloque del mes de Woodland Sampler. Tuve que buscar en Google lo que era un jackalope, nunca habia escuchado hablar de él. Lo que aprendí fue que el jackalope o lebrílope es un animal mitologico del folclore norteamericano, es una liebre con cuernos de antílope y a veces cola de faisán.... todos los días se aprende algo nuevo ;)
Creo que las diseñadora de este sampler han hecho una versión tierna de esta criatura :)
It's also time to share with you my pic for the TUSAL, not a lot of difference since the last update.
Es momento también de enseñarles mi foto para el TUSAL, no hay mucha diferencia desde la última vez que se la enseñe.
Midnight Raccoon Bandit
February's block of Woodland Sampler was released on the 1st, so I worked on finishing it on the weekend. This month we had to stitch a cute raccoon peeking out :). The pattern called for metallic thread (in gold or silver) for the star, but I used two strands of Kreinik's blending filament instead.
Can't wait to see the next block :) !!
El primero de febrero salio un nuevo bloque de Woodland Sampler, así que el fin de semana me dedique a él para poder terminarlo. Este me teniamos que bordar un adorable mapache que se esta asomando :). El patrón indicaba hilo metalico (dorado o plata) para las estrellas, en vez usé dos hebras de Kreinik ~ blending filament.
Que criatura nos traerá el proximo mes :) !!
First finishes of 2013!
Today I have lots of finishes to show you :)
First my crochet finishes...
For my daughter's birthday party I made some amigurumis to decorate a corner of the house. These critters are designs by Stacey Trock (Fresh Stitches), my favorite is the hermit crab. DBF requested one for him so I'll be making another one very soon ;)
Hoy tengo muchos proyectos terminados que enseñarles :)
Primeros lo de crochet...
Para la fiesta de cumpleaños de mi hijita hice algunos amigurumis para decorar una esquina de la casa. Los animalejos son diseños de Stacey Trock (Fresh Stitches), mi favorito es el cangrejo hermitaño. Fernando (mi novio) me pidio que le hiciera uno para él así que estaré haciendo uno muy pronto ;)
I also made a little mermaid. The pattern is a design by Mia Zamora (Owlishly). I think she's a cutie *Ü* , but her hair was a nightmare, the explanation on how to do it weren't that great I had to improvise a little bit. But overall I think she turned out adorable ♥ !
También hice una sirenita. Es un diseño de Mia Zamora (Owlishly). Me parece super tierna pero hacer el pelo resulto una pesadilla, las explicaciones no eran muy claras en el patrón, así que tuve que improvisar un poco. Igual creo que quedo adorable ♥ !
There is a Slug-A-Long going on Fresh Stitches Ravelry group; I had the pattern so I joined in. Here is my first slug (I plan to do a couple more ;) ). It's done with crochet thread #8 and a 1.75 mm hook so she is teeny-tiny :)
En el grupo de Fresh Stitches en Ravelry se esta realizando un Slug-A-Long; como ya tenía el patrón decidí participar. Aquí les muestro mi primera babosa (planeo hacer un par más ;) ). La hice con hilo de crochet #8 y crochet de 1.75mm por lo que mi babosa es pequeñita :)
And for cross stitch I finished the first block of Woodland Sampler. For January we stitched a cute couple of deers: "Deer Couple". I'm stitching it on a 32ct Desert Sand linen (one over two) with DMC threads.
Y para punto cruz, terminé el primer bloque de Woodland Sampler. Para enero bordamos una tierna pareja de venados. Lo estoy realizando sobre lino 32ct Desert Sand  (uno sobre dos) con hilos DMC.
